The photo here: [1] is Persicaria filiformis, not Persicaria virginiana as pictured. Note the different variegation pattern and the widest part of the leaf being on average farther forward than on P. virginiana. These species were formerly lumped together but are now recognized as separate by most authorities (check POWO: [2] and [3]).
