I disagree with the spelling of this Seiyu's name
[edit]I think it should be spelled out as "Ryoutarou Okiayu" instead, since "Ryoutarou" has three Kanji symbols rather than the usual two. Besides, the two O's on "Ryotaro" are long and not too many people IMO know how to pronounce "Ryotaro" properly, so I had a suggestion of spelling out "Ryoutarou" instead. — Vesther 06:14, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
- The variants are all acceptable, macrons or no macrons. His latest Aoni Production profile spells it as plain o's, so Ryotaro Okiayu. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:56, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Wrong name
[edit]This person's name is Ryuutarou (or Ryutaro with the lines), not Ryotaro. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.180.44.242 (talk) 12:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- His official profile says Ryōtarō (as oppose to the page's url). Also the lines you mentioned are called macrons. -- クラウド668 17:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Filmography is excessive
[edit]This filmography is excessive, Wikipedia isn't IMDb that needs to include every credit from any film/tv/game project, it should just include the highlights. Before I go in and remove a lot of material, could editors who work on this article do some pruning? Liz Read! Talk! 20:34, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've asked over at WT:ANIME if anyone can help with the article. However, I'm not sure though that we should remove content from the article just because it is long. Just because he has had a lot of roles doesn't make those roles non-encyclopedic. Perhaps the filmography could be split into a separate article, as has been done with many live-action actors? Calathan (talk) 20:57, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- I'll tag this as my next project for WP:ANIME/BIO. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:27, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- WP:NOTPAPER so if a filmography is included in an article, it should be as complete as reliable sources will allow. And it is really no different than Charles Dickens bibliography and Mark Twain bibliography. —Farix (t | c) 01:26, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- The Filmography is excessively long and not sourced properly. It needs to be pruned and / or supported with credible sources. Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 05:11, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Done While his full line of work would span over 565 entries (according to VADB), I've pruned these to the ones that he has listed on his resume as notable and added sourcing from the reliably-sourced databases and news articles. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:58, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Missing music
[edit]I'm extremely surprised that none of his character songs are listed when he's been such a prolific singer. Should I add them from my own CD collection? I want to make sure first because this is going to take a while and I don't want someone coming in and saying "the list is excessively long" and removing 90% of it. Pandora18 (talk) 16:32, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- Take a look at Aya Hirano where they have her character songs/albums listed separately and are referenced by either Oricon or Hitoshi Doi's database. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:52, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- I don't need any outside sources. I have an extensive Okiayu CD collection that is entirely self-sufficient (Hitoshi Doi's database is incomplete and is run by some random person, it boggles me that it's consistently considered the pinnacle of reliable sources). I just need to make sure that my hard work is not going to be deleted if everything is listed properly, with catalog number if necessary. Pandora18 (talk) 07:35, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- You need the outside sources, otherwise that is original research WP:NOR. Please read WP:ANIME/RS. I would suggest the Oricon database first. Links to Amazon or CD websites might be okay to provide they are real CDs. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 13:49, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- I suspected as much. Then I won't bother. If a physical CD collection with proper catalog numbers is not considered reliable enough, I might as well spend my time on something else. And the page will remain incomplete. Oh well.Pandora18 (talk) 08:05, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
