[edit]This is the only place I've read that "all her orifices were sewn up" - every other account states she was sewn up in a (burlap) bag and tossed into the river to drown. I don't have the book cited (if indeed the cite is even for this statement.) Trying to sew someone's ears shut would be a difficult endeavor, let alone ... other ... places.
