Location assumed to be known

[edit]

"The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 is the legislation that governs exposure to vibration and assists with preventing HAVS occurring."

I would assume that applies to Canada? Or possibly Japan? Or... ? Without any context regarding locale, it's nearly meaningless. 74.240.246.203 (talk) 08:31, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Powerball safety

[edit]

Could the high RPM motion of a Powerball fitness gadget cause or exacerbate a white finger condition?

I'm interested to know if it would be safe to use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.66.19.90 (talk) 12:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not culturally representative?

[edit]

This article seems Caucasian-centric. Can darker hues experience white fingers? --80.1.249.18 (talk) 17:32, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia follows the sources. The sources use this name; therefore we use this name.
As the history indicates that the disease was described in overwhelmingly white Europe, it would not be unreasonable for us to assume that the original patients were white. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:29, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation Request

[edit]

@MB Hi, you reverted my edit saying "incorrect hatnote, term does NOT redirect here, and isn't mentioned in article either".[1] However, the term "white-knuckle" does indeed redirect here. The fact that the article doesn't mention the phrase is thus precisely why a disambiguation is needed. Please reinstate the hatnote (or if you still think the syntax is wrong, then please provide a corrected version). But some disambiguation/navigational sign is needed here. -Tiredmeliorist (talk) 13:22, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tiredmeliorist, I found the article in Category:Missing redirects. "white knuckle" redirected here, but not "white-knuckle", which you put in the hatnote, did NOT, putting it in the missing redirect category. The search box matches on similar terms, found the article anyway. That said, there was no reason for either white knuckle or white-knuckle to redirect to this article since it provides no useful information about the term. I made it into a dab page. Ok cool, that's much better, thanks. -Tiredmeliorist (talk) 14:55, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
