Nice start - but too many lists. Get refs for good text. Pics? Welcome Victuallers 14:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ursulines

[edit]

In the first paragraph of the article, the religious order which founded and administered Villa Angela Academy is listed as "Ursulines." For most of the earlier part of my lifetime, this order was known to those in the community at large as the Order of Saint Ursula (OSU). A sister of this order who had authored a book, by way of example, would have been credited as (fictitious name) "Sister Mary Saint Patrick, OSU." I am at a loss to cite a reliable encyclopedic source for the proposition that Order of Saint Ursula was the correct name of the order in times past. Similarly, I am at a loss to be able to cite an Internet or Wikipedia source to support the proposition that there was a change in the name of the order in the relatively recent past. I would be most appreciative of clarification on this point. NorthCoastReader (talk) 01:51, 8 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Patron saint(s)

[edit]

In the information column on the right hand side of the page, the "Patron saint(s)" of VASJ are listed as Saint Angela Merici and William Joseph Chaminade. I believe it is correct to show the Patron Saints as Saint Angela Merici and Saint Joseph.

Saint Angela was founder of the Ursuline order of sisters. And I do believe it is correct to say that she was the Patron Saint of Villa Angela Academy.

In the case of Saint Joseph High School, I would think that while it is correct to credit Blessed Chaminade as the founder of the Society of Mary (the order of Catholic brothers which administered Saint Joseph High School prior to the merger with Villa Angela Academy), it would be correct to recognize Saint Joseph as the Patron Saint of Saint Joseph High. Facts about Athletic events

[edit]

I started to re-write this section for the usual reasons and stopped once I realized that no mention had been made of womens' teams, or, in the alternative, a rationale for not so doing. Would anyone like to fill in the missing info? NorthCoastReader (talk) 01:02, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Heads-up, re: list of rivals.

[edit]

As of December, 2012 the Diocese of Cleveland announced that St. Peter Chanel High School would close at the end of the 2012-2013 school year. Methinks the list of rivals will need to be edited at that time unless there is a change of plan. NorthCoastReader (talk) 03:08, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
