WP:URFA/2020 review
[edit]Hi talk page watchers, I am reviewing this article for WP:URFA/2020, an initiative to review Wikipedia's oldest articles to determine if they still meet the featured article criteria. In reviewing this article, I noticed that there is no post-2012 history about this trail. Is anyone interested in updating this article? Z1720 (talk) 03:45, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- I can look into it, though I don't have any background with the article, by at least finding a few sources. In 2013, a $200,000 grant was awarded to the Open Space Institute to work on the trail, presumably regarding the cave-in damage, though no news found yet about if work was completed [1]. I assume it was, because there's plenty of routine local news in the years following. Emergency resurfacing repairs were done in July of 2014 as indicated here [2] and at the Hudson Valley Times though the latter link is literally 2 sentences. There is one news item from last year, 2023, stating that an extension to connect it with the Walkway over the Hudson and other associated trails is planned [3]. - I've begun updating the article with newer references, including some of those. The one on the 2013 grant was for the Wallkill Valley trail though, and not the Walden-Wallkill trail. The only mention of the WW trail is that there are longstanding plans to connect the trails. Will add more references and do some further cleanup tonight. Gyrobo (talk) 14:42, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
