Commander in Chief Allied Land Forces Central Europe (CINCLANDCENT)

Instead there were three separate CINCs for Land, Air and Naval forces in the Central Region. Headquarters Allied Land Forces Central Europe was originally known as Allied Army Forces Central Europe, but on 10 Aug 51 the designation was changed to Headquarters Allied Land Forces Central Europe to avoid confusion in message designators (AAFCE) with Headquarters Allied Air Forces Central Europe. After the creation of the post of CINCENT on 20 Aug 53, this post became a Principle Subordinate Commander with the title of Commander, Allied Land Forces Central Europe, COMLANDCENT.
