user:danhash/Interwiki/JS and CSS config

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Problem statement: Most of my custom JS & CSS are specific to English Wikipedia, and even on English Wikipedia, some of my customizations and scripts no longer work reliably and interact with newer Gadgets & Beta features. This page will keep track of my migration from English Wikipedia-centric customizations to global CSS/JS cusomizations.

Log

[edit]
  • 5/16/17
    • Fixed a JavaScript mistake I made in global.js; this fixed my wikEd customization. Unfortunately, I'd already disabled all Gadgets, Beta Features, and non-wikEd scripts on common.js as troubleshooting before realizing that my own JavaScript mistake was the cause.
    • Enabled Twinkle Gadget and confirmed preferences load

To do

[edit]
  • Research if Gadgets/Beta features can be enabled on a global level (so that I don't have to, for example, enable the "Edit Section" links for the top/lead section for all wikis independently)
  • Tool Tips & config
  • The rest of my customizations in common.js; move these to global.js and test them
  • Review the full list of Gadgets
  • Review the full list of Beta Features
