List of House and Senate Committee counterparts
[edit]The following tables lists only those committee counterparts in the House and Senate, based on the major area(s) of jurisdiction in each committee. Some committee jurisdictions diverge on just one or two sub-issues, for example jurisdiction over federal holidays lies with the Judiciary Committee in the Senate, but is handled by the Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the House.

At the start of the 114th Congress, Rep. Jason Chaffetz took over as chairman of the full committee, as the previous chairman Darrell Issa had to step down due to term limits. In December 2014 Chaffetz announced he the committee would be reorganized, and several subcommittees would have their names changed to "allow the subcommittee Chairs and Members to take a new approach to addressing the matters that come before the committee." The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce and Subcommittee on Domestic Policy were eliminated, and combined with the Subcommittee on Government Operations. The Energy Policy and health Sub was split into a new Interior Subcommittee to oversee energy and environment policy matters and a separate Health Care subcommittee, which also took over the roll of the now defunct Economic Growth Committee. The Technology committee was renamed simply Information Technology and finally a new subcommittee on Transportation and Public Assets.

United States House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee
[edit]With the retirement of former Chairman Doc Hastings, Rob Bishop took over as the committee's new chairman at the beginning of the 114th Congress. Congressman Bishop began the process of hiring new staff and reorganizing the committee's structure.[2][3] The chairman eliminated the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs and split its former duties between the renamed Subcommittees on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs and Water, Power and Oceans. The chairman also created a new Subcommittee on Oversight.Cite error: The opening <ref>

The chairman also transferred jurisdiction over the National Environmental Policy Act and the Endangered Species Act from the former Public Lands and Environmental Regulation and established a renamed the Subcommittee on Federal Lands.[4]
