Jean-Philippe Courtois currently serves as Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and President, Global Sales, Marketing & Operations,[1] leading Microsoft’s commercial business across 122 subsidiaries worldwide. Courtois is a French national and holds a diploma in advanced business studies from Skema Business School.

[edit]Courtois holds a Diplôme des Etudes Commerciales Supérieures (DECS) from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, Nice (SKEMA).[2] Courtois is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at SKEMA Business Schools.
Career
[edit]Courtois joined Microsoft in 1984 as a sales representative and rose to become general manager of Microsoft France in 1994. Later he became vice-president of worldwide marketing, based at Microsoft's headquarters at Redmond, Washington before becoming CEO and President of Microsoft Europe, Middle East and Africa.[3][4] Courtois then served as President of Microsoft International for 11 years between 2005 – 2016, leading sales, marketing, and services across all Microsoft subsidiaries outside of the United States and Canada
In 2016, Courtois was promoted to Executive Vice President and President, Global Sales, Marketing & Operations,[5] leading Microsoft's commercial business across 122 subsidiaries worldwide.

[edit]Jean-Philippe Courtois is a board member of Positive Planet[6], a worldwide NGO with a mission to transform the world positively for future generations. He has served as co-chairman of the World Economic Forum's Global Digital Divide Initiative Task Force.[7] and on the European Commission Information and Communication Technology task force.[8] Courtois is the president and co-founder of the Live for Good foundation,[9] an initiative first set up by his son, Gabriel. Live for Good is a non-profit which aims to help underprivileged, young social entrepreneurs realize their potential through digital innovation. In 2016, Live for Good launched the Prix Gabriel to identify young social entrepreneurs under the age of 27 and provide them with coaching and materials to help their businesses succeed. By the end of 2017, the community had grown to over 300 entrepreneurs.[10]
Awards and achievements
[edit]In 2009, Courtois became an EU Ambassador for the Year of Creativity and Innovation.[11] In 2011, he was named one of "Tech's Top 25" by the Wall Street Journal Europe.[12]
