- Ok as far as it goes. You should link to, & explain a bit http://libmma.org/portal/access-hours-and-policies/ - you can't just walk in off the street I presume. Do you need to demonstrate your credentials as a researcher? It doesn't go much/any further than Metropolitan_Museum_of_Art#Libraries. You could just set up a redirect to that for now. Really the whole MMA online resources need a section, including these catalogues, the "Timeline" etc. Stuff added at the main article will get more views. Otherwise, Yes to Byzantine Empire under the Palaiologos dynasty; Medieval jewelry, Lectionary, Icon; no to Byzantine Iconoclasm; Macedonian art (Byzantine) (too early); Religious art; Christian art; Constantinople; History of the Byzantine Empire (too general); Byzantine silk only embroidery in it; Also yes to: Hodegetria, Eleusa icon, Our Lady of the Sign, Our Lady of the Don no 88, Theotokos of Vladimir #87, Michael Damaskinos see index, Cretan School, Theophanes the Cretan, Andreas Ritzos, Angelos Akotantos. - Probably not:Religious art;Christian symbolism;Anglo-Saxon art; Iconography;Theological aesthetics; Saint symbolism;
- I'm sure other articles can be added, especially for specific objects in the exhibition, with the catalogue number: eg Colossus of Barletta (no 20-something), Consular diptych, plus I'm sure several individual ones (around p. 40 on), Saint Menas (nos 512, 514-17), and so on. These might well be the most useful (nb you often need to know the subject area to tie the different names up). Johnbod (talk) 20:59, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Johnbod (talk) 20:04, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

WilliamDigiCol (talk) 14 November 2012
- That would be the first step; all of the above could have at least an EL. In cases like Codex Glazier, where there is a specific entry on a object, it can be added as "Further reading" in a new section, after references, preferably using a format like:

- Weitzmann, Kurt, ed., Age of spirituality: late antique and early Christian art, third to seventh century, no. XXX, 1979, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, ISBN 9780870991790; full text available online from The Metropolitan Museum of Art Libraries. [giving the catalogue number.]
- The ideal is to do what I have been doing with the book at Early Christian art and architecture, where I have been adding content from the book, and also referencing existing content, using it as a reference. Of course that takes longer. I think a wording like "fully online from The Metropolitan Museum of Art" makes it clearer in all cases - too many people add links that just go to an Amazon or google page with little or no "preview" text. Johnbod (talk) 20:15, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- ADDED TO THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS: Codex Glazier 445a; Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus 386; Dura Europos church 360; Rabbula Gospels 445; Codex Petropolitanus Purpureus 444; Rossano Gospels 443; London Canon Tables 441; Dura Europos Synagogue (no. 341);Antioch Chalice (no. 542); Monza ampullae (no 524 & 526, & pp. 565-6); Archangel ivory (no 481);
- Are we going to do more? I hope so. In most cases a wikipedia search on the object name in the catalogue will take you to the right object pretty easily. If it doesn't, list those cat #s and object name here & I'll find the right article for you. Thanks. Johnbod (talk) 20:44, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

- Not too sure about some of the artists. Old master print and popular print should be added, and the techniques & book bits are ok. Let me think on the artists. Johnbod (talk) 20:31, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- OK I added the links to the techniques and book bits. Let me know what you think about the artists. I only included ones that had sections of the catalog devoted to them and their work. WilliamDigiCol (talk) 14:56, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- Also Line engraving, Book of Hours 247ff, Northern Mannerism 417ff, Rembrandt. Goya and Picasso are tempting & worth a go; others might remove them. Manet, Degas, Matisse probably not. I've removed 2 deadlinks from Andrea Mantegna, & I now think that & all the other artists above are ok. Johnbod (talk) 17:02, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

COMMENT: This is a larger scale project. We have literally thousands of fashion plates from 1790-1929 and we are looking for ways to make this material accessible to Wikipedia users. We are able to limit the fashion plates to specific decades, and I was thinking doing this and creating external links to the germane decades in the History of Western Fashion might be useful. There are also some El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, and Rembrandt paintings in the catalog, but I don't know that it warrants a link on any of these pages. WilliamDigiCol (talk) 20:28, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- I see there are only 42 works catalogued - isn't it a collection catalogue rather than an exhibition one? I think the big topics are probably best avoided, but yes to all the individual arts as follow:Simon Marmion (1); Jean Hey (3); Master of Saint Giles (4); Corneille de Lyon (5); Lucas Cranach the Elder (9); Lucas Cranach the Younger (10); Hans Holbein the Younger (11); Petrus Christus (12); Hans Memling (13-15); Master of the Legend of St. Ursula (Bruges) (16); Dieric Bouts (17); Master of Frankfurt (18); Joos van Cleve (19); Gerard David (20-22); Master of the Female Half-Lengths (23); Utrecht Caravaggism (28); David Teniers the Younger (29-30); Gerard ter Borch (33-34); Pieter de Hooch (35-36); George Romney (painter) (41); Henry Raeburn (42). - not the really big names I think, though some of the actual works might have articles.
