MetroLink cats
[edit]I believe when the bots get around to renaming the MetroLink cats, they'll automatically rename them on every aritlce. No need to do all the work yourself. --Millbrooky (talk) 03:56, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Daron! Although Korean films are indeed an interest of mine, I unfortunately don't know an awful lot about the festival. What you've done so far looks okay though. I don't think there's a right or wrong in terms of structure (whatever works best for the article, I say), but if you're taking your lead from other articles then you might take a look at Reel Affirmations, which passed a GA review fairly recently. The convention for Korean names recommends using a hyphen when no other preference is known (see WP:NC-KO); generally I find that most actor/director articles use a hyphenated name anyway. Hope that helps! Regards. PC78 (talk) 20:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Neighborhoods of St. Louis/to do
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Neighborhoods of St. Louis/to do, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Erechtheus (talk) 23:58, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Daron, I was watching your talk page, since I saw your away message. I took care of the above so that you won't lose any work. I moved all the content on Neighborhoods of St. Louis/to do to Talk:Neighborhoods of St. Louis/to do. I also updated the link on the regular neighborhoods of STL talk page. Hope I didn't mess up anything in the process. The only reason it was nominated for deletion is that you created the to do list in the mainspace vs. as a subpage of the talk page. -Grey Wanderer | Talk 02:48, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I have nominated Ward E. Barnes Library, an article you created, for deletion. Re: Ages (Singapore Education)
[edit]In Kindergarten, there's N1, N2, K1, and K2 which are for 3, 4, 5, and 6 years old respectively. In Primary schools, there's P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 and P6, which are for 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 years old respectively. For Secondary schools, there's S1, S2, S2 and S4, which are for 13, 14, 15, 16 years old respectively. Then, after secondary schools, they either go to a Polytechnic or a J.C. to take up 2 to 3 years of study before going to either College or University. You'll also have to take note that the school year in Singapore begins in January and end at November (October for those in Secondary schools due to the holidays), unlike the American way which begins in September and ends at June. It's a bit confusing at first, but you'll get used to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.177.41 (talk) 02:50, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Collaboration at United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri
[edit]Greetings! I noticed you signed up at Wikipedia:WikiProject St. Louis/Politics, so I thought I'd let you know that the new Wikipedia:WikiProject United States courts and judges has (arbitrarily) chosen United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri as its first court article to focus on cleaning up and expanding. If you could help with this, we'd appreciate it! All the best, – Quadell (talk) 03:51, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]I wrote up a template for the St. Louis neighborhoods infoboxes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:St._Louis_neighborhoods

[edit](Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 05:48, 1 December 2009 (UTC)) Greetings DaronDierkes. This is MetroFan2009. I have been editing some development on St. Louis Public Transportation. Type me a message if you have seen some of the changes that I have made in Bi-State Development Agency, St. Louis MetroLink, and WikiProject St. Louis Transportation Page.
Bi-State
[edit](Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 15:22, 10 December 2009 (UTC)) Thanks for that message fellow wikipedian!! My next project is the Streets of St Louis, Structures of St. Louis, Parks of Greater St. Louis, and Public transportation in the Greater St. Louis region. I have notice that you've kind of slowwed down your editting for WikiProject St. Louis to be in Seoul, Korea. I don't blame you. I'm doing this because no other wikipedian would do this section of Wikipedia. Thanks for the message I hope I will wiki you soon!!!

Creating Templates
[edit](Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 01:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)) Market and Chestnut? I have just edited an entire template of the streets and highways of St. Louis(Though I'm still expanding the template first. Sometimes they make good pages to save). I have only made them specific to not confuse a wiki searcher with other streets in other U.S. cities. I have also created another template of the Structures of St. Louis. Parks of St. Louis templates have been keeping me busy for a while. Take a look If you want to. It may make you very happy.
Yay
[edit](Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 02:45, 11 December 2009 (UTC)) I have figured you'd say that!

By the way, congraduations to your 3500 contributions to Wikipedia!! Yay for you!! I have a favor to ask. Do you think you may help me with some page that I am creating? I know I am not the only one who wants to do it.

- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 23:32, 15 December 2009 (UTC)) You are right my fellow wikipedian, we have to find and edit a file for St. Louis Streets! By the way are you and I the only one editing pages out for St. Louis? Just a day ago I found the Flag of St. Louis and edited it right into the City of St Louis template. If you had manage to contact other wikipedians in St. Louis, Please let me know! Enjoy your lunch!!
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 23:52, 15 December 2009 (UTC)) Alright thanks for the notice.

- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 00:29, 16 December 2009 (UTC)) Awwww Yes, I did see that map of downtown and Market Street. It's impressive. My next project for Bi-State is to upload more picture of our transit system in the St. Louis Area. I'm tired of looking at Twenty-something pictures on Wikimwedia commoms. I want to upload more pictures, ths time on the MetroBus and Metro Call-A-Ride vans from Flickr. com. Ihave found them now I just need to upload them. And speaking of picture, are you interested in the St. Louis Parks? I have been creating some page on them. Take a Look for yourself.
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 00:33, 16 December 2009 (UTC)) I'm not sure but we'll be able to look into that later. What do you think about doing Utilities of St. Louis?
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 23:15, 17 December 2009 (UTC)) Hey Daron How are you today? Do you want to edit the list of MetroBus routes?!

- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 06:11, 18 December 2009 (UTC)) If you say so!! Happy Typings !P.S I have already edited some park in the template. I have been asking other St. Louis wikipedian if they want to contribute to Parks in St. Louis. I have had some luck and very few have responded.
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 00:31, 19 December 2009 (UTC)) Good Evening Daron. How unloading those pictures going up? Please respond!
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 01:36, 19 December 2009 (UTC)) That would be good, but It would feel safe if the parks have had their own page! It wouldn't be Parks in St. Louis without them having their own pages just like the neighborhoods of St. Louis!!
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 06:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)) Fair enough. Thanks Brother and Happy Holidays to you!!!
- (Jordan S. Wilson (talk) 23:33, 4 January 2010 (UTC)) Hey Daron how are you and Happy New Year!!! MetroBus is going to get its own page. What do you think about that? Please respond as soon as you get this message.

Re:the St. Louis Gateway Mall images
[edit]Hi DaronDierkes. Well, there are two simple ways to deal with the permissions problem. One way is to contact a representative for the organization behind the files and have them write an email to "permissions-en-at-wikimedia.org" stating what license (for a full list see WP:ICT/All) the images are licensed under. The other way is to have a representative post a note on the website, stating which images are released under free licenses. Just a caveat though, if you find that the images are not licensed under a free license and non-free, then the images could be deleted per failure of Wikipedia's non-free content criteria #1. Hope that helps to clarify things; please feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any more questions or are in need of assistance. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 21:31, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you very much for the barnstar! I'm glad I was able to help in some small way; you clearly have become a very knowledgeable editor. I haven't heard from you much over the past year - did you take a wikibreak for awhile? Cheers, Rai•me 06:44, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I've been well below past editing levels lately, as you can probably tell from this late reply :) I'm not sure what city I will work on next, or when I will do it; I was leaning towards starting on Canadian city, but I've been very busy and just don't seem to have the time to start one... Good luck with your St. Louis articles! Cheers, Rai•me 05:59, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Your St. Louis ward articles
[edit]Just a suggestion, but wouldn't it be better if these were called, say, "Ward X, City of St. Louis," or "Ward X, St. Louis"? "Saint Louis City" seems like a pretty nonstandard appellation, at least from my own experience and all the other articles we have on St. Louis topics. --Glenfarclas (talk) 07:32, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, no problem. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be the equivalent of referring to Southern California University or something. --Glenfarclas (talk) 07:43, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
beer breweries in greater st. louis category
[edit]why did you redirect that category? If anything it should go the other way. DaronDierkes (talk) 00:38, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- I realize that the four breweries there are all in St. Louis, but many small breweries that are not in St. Louis are in Greater St. Louis. St. Louis is an Independent City. DaronDierkes (talk) 00:40, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Daron. Category:Brewing in Greater St. Louis is a non-standard cat. The standard beer cat scheme is Category:Beer and breweries by region to Category:Beer and breweries in North America to Category:Beer and breweries in the United States. In the rest of the world the cat scheme continues down in the same manner - Category:Beer and breweries in Europe to Category:Beer and breweries in the United Kingdom, etc. In those cats, beer brands, beer companies, and articles related to beer and breweries in the respective regions are placed. A few years ago an alternative cat scheme was introduced just for the United States - Category:Beer brewing companies in the United States by state to Category:Beer brewing companies based in Missouri. This is already an awkward category because the name doesn't allow for articles on beer brands or other beer related matters to be placed in such cats. There were a couple of discussions about it. The new scheme was undone once, but then restored. To prevent further disruption, the alternative scheme was kept. In order to now accommodate the beer articles that could no longer fit into the new scheme, a new cat was created - Category:American beer brands, and a supercat to hold that - Category:Beer brands. This is working - and we don't wish to impose a new category system upon that.
- Category:Beer brewing companies based in Missouri already has a subcat - Category:Beer brewing companies based in St. Louis, Missouri, even though the two cats together only hold six articles. It could be argued that Category:Beer brewing companies based in St. Louis, Missouri is already a cat too far, so adding another cat - Category:Brewing in Greater St. Louis would just make things even more cluttered and difficult to navigate.
- The cat Category:Brewing in Greater St. Louis doesn't fit into the existing cat schemes, and it's not needed, as already there are more than enough cats for breweries in St. Louis, Missouri. I would suggest that any brewery articles you wish to create would fit quite well in either Category:Beer brewing companies based in St. Louis, Missouri or Category:Beer brewing companies based in Missouri (but not both).
- I hope that helps to explain why I redirected Category:Brewing in Greater St. Louis to Category:Beer brewing companies based in St. Louis, Missouri. SilkTork *YES! 10:10, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for editing the page of Minsoo Kang.
[edit]Thank you for the updates and expansion. About information in the early life section(very interesting, I was glad to know), I think citation might be necessary. As to the academic work section, wondering if his master thesis matters here, as Minsoo Kang is probably more notable for his literature writing as an asian american writer, so I moved the fiction information back to the header section and added comment on the discussion page. Also I updated his nationality as American, as he is on the wiki list of Korean American writers - unless you have other resources/evidence telling otherwise. You accidentally removed some of his essays, I put them back. Thanks for your editing!

Speedy deletion nomination of The Pinnacle@Duxton
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Pinnacle@Duxton, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Jayakumar RG (talk) 14:11, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Oldcourthouse ballpark.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Oldcourthouse ballpark.jpg, which you've attributed to Ted Ficklin. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ✗plicit 12:47, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
