Thanks for uploading Image:Mvp07ncaa.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

I have rolled back your changes because they are not factually correct. Per the University System of Georgia, the governing body of said universities, Georgia Southern is still a regional university. They have made the Doctoral/research category arbitrary standard for the US News ranks but that does not change their status in the USG. Additionally, Valdosta State is also a Regional University. 2007 Texas A&M Aggies football team

Hi Dawg1279. I noticed you removed the team rankings from the schedule. I initially thought the same thing you did when another user added them, but it turns out it's better to leave the ranks on there — readers can get an idea of the difficult games ahead. Without any ranks, it can imply that the teams aren't ranked. ESPN, in fact, does it this way. The rankings will have to be updated each week, though, which I wouldn't have a problem of doing. 2007 Connecticut Huskies football team

I'm not sure what the reasoning is, and i'm not arguing, but I feel that as long as a team is recieving votes in either the AP or Coaches poll, that their rank is relivent. It shows that the team is on the verge of cracking the top 25, and that they are garnering respect on a national level. If the rankings were being taken from the top 120 polls, then I could see a justification, but as long as the team is recieving votes, I don't see a reason why a rank other than 1-25 is not relivent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigblue1222 (talk • contribs) 03:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Is it policy to change the {{cfb link}} to the precise link once the team's season page has been established? I didn't see the harm in leaving them on the 2007 Cincinnati Bearcats football team schedule and it seemed safer to leave the template in case a season article got deleted for whatever reason. For the past month, I've been working on the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl article. I've brought it up to GA status and am now working on making it a featured article. 2007 Georgia Bulldogs football

An article that is just cut and pasted from its actual source probably isn't a good article. For one, every game featured the phrase "on Saturday" in it. The OK State game was no longer last Saturday. It was three months ago. Aside from that, the awkward dotted separation was bad and it wasn't too neutral to say the least ("Georgia coach Mark Richt came up with another motivational gimmick for Auburn, and this one worked just as well as the end zone celebration against Florida....Of course, it didn't hurt having Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno"). If you use a bowl game, team, conference, or other logo in your article, be sure to provide a fair use rationale on the image page. An article on the 2007 Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team is needed to complete coverage of Top 25 teams during the 2007 season. The 2007-2008 bowl season is wrapping up. Editors are encouraged to create and expand individual bowl game articles as well as base articles about the bowl games in general. 2006 Oklahoma Sooners football team failed its Featured Article Candidacy. Editors cited the fact that writers rarely use the criteria when improving articles, and that many articles lacked the criteria, causing unnecessary work. Editors are encouraged to watch the project talk page and Featured Article Candidates for potential College Football featured articles. Several featured articles have failed to make it past the nomination stage due to a lack of comments -- both positive and negative. Due to the fact that college football is a niche subject on Wikipedia, fewer editors are likely to comment on college football nominations, making it even more important for Wikiproject members to contribute. User:BetacommandBot adds College football project banners to over 10,000 articles, bringing the total number of articles in the project to nearly 15,000. Editors are now needed to assess uncategorized college football articles, and help has been requested on an as-available basis. Template:Infobox CollegeFB Bowl was deleted following a deletion discussion, and was replaced by {{NCAAFootballSingleGameHeader}}. The article Chris Jessee has been kept following a deletion discussion. The article 1906 Auburn Tigers football team was nominated for deletion and kept. This deletion discussion, in addition to the discussion for the 1902 LSU Tigers football team, provide a precedence for keeping stub-length single-season articles, even if those articles only consist of the team's schedule and results for that season. A hotly-debated discussion about the wording of team conference affiliations ended in agreement that teams "compete" in a conference if they fielded a team in that conference, regardless of the final standings. Partially owing to the addition of most NFL player articles to the project, more Good Article-class articles were added to Wikiproject College Football in January than in any other month in the project's history. Keep up the good work! With 45 Good Articles, this project now accounts for approximately 1.3% of all the good articles on Wikipedia! SatyrBot assessed approximately 4,300 previously-unassessed college football articles. There are still over 1,500 unassessed articles out there, so if you get a chance, feel free to lend a hand. If it becomes necessary to use an archaic name for a university, link to the modern name and/or Wikipedia page. Example: Virginia Polytechnic Institute. This is particularly common in articles dealing with subjects prior to the separation of NCAA divisions in the 1970s. Project news This month is spring practice season for most college football teams. Be sure to update your team's season article and grab a few pictures if you're lucky enough to be on hand for a spring game. Remember, even the worst picture of all is better than the picture that wasn't taken. The number of College Football Good Articles being added to the project continues to grow. Nine new GAs were added in March, bringing the total of GAs produced this year to 29. At the current rate, the project will produce 116 GAs this year, nearly three times the number of GAs that were produced in the past two years. Keep up the great work! With all the new GAs and FAs produced by the project, reviewers and commenters are continuously needed. Keep an eye on the project talk page, WP:FAC and WP:GAC for new college football articles to review and comment upon. Even one suggestion or support message goes a long way toward helping create a new Featured or Good Article. Notre Dame Fighting Irish football under Tyrone Willingham and Skip Holtz need a Good Article review. A discussion is ongoing about the possibility of creating a master team list for Division 1-AA, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA football teams. Project news There's still more than two months until the 2008-2009 college football season kicks off, but that's no reason to stop editing! Plenty of historical articles, such as past bowl games, need to be written, and editors are always needed to update teams' season articles. Don't fall into the summer malaise — check out the to-do list on the Wikiproject College football talk page. Wikiproject College Football recently created its first featured topic, ACC football championship games. Featured topics are collections of good- or featured-level articles, and represent the apex of featured content on Wikipedia. If you have multiple good or featured articles that can be connected by a common topic or article, consider submitting them as a featured article. There are currently very few featured topics and even fewer sports featured topics. Several NAIA coaches' articles (ex. Ronald Beard) were nominated for deletion, but were rescued by editors. Paul McDonald has created a formal draft of notability requirements for college football articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject College Football/Notability. This is an updated draft of the older proposed guidelines and goes into far more detail. All editors of college football articles are requested to examine the document and leave comments or suggestions. If implemented, it will affect future AfD discussions dealing with college football articles. The College Football Portal needs more pictures scheduled. A hearty congratulations should go out to everyone who has elevated an article to Good Article status since January 1. During the past seven months, the project has more than doubled the number of Good Articles! In 2006 and 2007, there were a total of 40 college football GAs. In the first seven months of 2008, we've created 42. Give yourself a pat on the back! For those of you who haven't yet created a college football good article yet, what are you waiting for? At the present rate, there will be more than 120 by year's end. Be a part of something bigger and build a GA-class college football article today! A lengthy discussion about the use of team logos in different articles is under way, and your help and comments are requested. Because the argument has gotten heated at times, editors are reminded to stay civil and respect other viewpoints, even if you may disagree with them.
