Hi. When you recently edited 1987 Whittier Narrows earthquake, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page San Gabriel River (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Grant High School

Hello, Dawnseeker2000. I am not one to attack individuals hoping to enhance Wikipedia, but you clearly lack sufficient knowledge of Grant High School's prestigious alumnus, Michael Hobizal. I, having spent hours interviewing the man, know for a fact that this information is true, as cited. Please stop limiting the learning opportunities presented to the page, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.120.252.152 (talk) 22:32, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Why are you deleting an important section of Network Access Control about Controversy, 802.1x? Do you have any counter argument against the facts?

802.1x Hacking

All NAC vendors, with the exception of NetClarity, believe that 802.1x is a safe, secure protocol to use for access control. With over 2.4 million google links to "hack 802.1x" and the fact that PWNIE Express makes a very low cost hand-held hardware appliance that performs man-in-the-middle attacks on the 802.1x protocol, breaking through it within a matter of seconds, the fact is that 802.1x is not 100% secure and does present some risk in deployment. NetClarity chose to create a NAC solution that does not use agents and does not run the 802.1x protocol, working with older and newer switches, hubs, wireless access points, wireless routers and voip equipment from all vendors, heterogeneously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.214.246.226 (talk) 13:03, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

2010 South Kyrgyzstan riots

Hello! The article on 2010 South Kyrgyzstan riots has been suggested to be merged with 2010 Kyrgyzstan crisis which is a broader topic. Why can't we have a separate article on an ethnic riot in which over 400 people died and more than 400, 000 people were displaced? Can I manually remove the suggestion? Warning???

I don't understand what content I allegedly changed on the Unilever article. Would you be willing to enlighten me? I know I linked Rainforest Alliance to it, but that's only because as I was reading the article I thought, "Hmm. That should be linked. Then I can click on it to read more about Rainforest Alliance." You reverted Unicornpuke on the The Bahamas article here when a quick search of Google returned that the day before, the Bahamas had changed hands of government from Hubert Ingraham to Perry Christie. Therefore, I really can't see why you would have reverted the user when (s)he was inserting correct information into the article. City of Fontana

Greetings,

My name is Johnny Gomez. I am currently working for the City of Fontana Marketing Department. Part of my job is to find new innovative ways to provide information for people interested in Fontana affairs.

I have been working on the site for about a week or two, and provided the site with plenty of information which has been taken out. Is there a particular reason? Did I not provide accurate information? Did I break a rule I should know about?

Honestly, if it is benefiting the promotion of Fontana, I need to know this so can prevent future deletions. Before I started, the page was very inaccurate pertaining to the community centers. If there is a way that we could work together that might help as well. Thanks for your time. re: City of Fontana

Ok, I apologize for not following the format. I will try to follow the format as much as possible in the future. I do want to work with you and the rest of the moderators of Wikipedia to make this the best "marketable" page that can be presented. Again, I work for the Marketing Department for the City and we are trying to make it the best possible page we can. I do want to follow the rules too.

What are the rules on the photos? I would like to add some photos of the Community Centers. If it is a little much to do every center, I completely understand. I will try and limit them if they appear cluttered.

Feedback is very much appreciated. Just so you know I would like to think we are on the same side, and pun intended, the same page. (Ftr745 (talk) 15:44, 4 June 2012 (UTC))

Re:Megathrust categories

That's very interesting that the 1931 Oaxaca earthquake was a result of normal faulting, I had not really paid attention to that and kinda assumed that because of its magnitude it was megathrust event. It would be interesting to find out if any other quakes near subduction zones may have been of the same mechanism. I was trying to find all other earthquakes that would be categorized as megathrust and add them to the category to make it more complete. Well thanks for letting me know about it anyway. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Dawnseeker2000/Sandbox 3, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Galilee earthquake of 363. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 19:10, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Ri Disambiguation

Hi Dawnseeker- Just curious, I found a "Disambuguation needed" on the autoantibody site, so added the disambiguation to the Ri site and then linked the two. Why was this inappropriate? The message you sent me didn't really explain why you were deleting my revisions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocketman234 (talkcontribs) 18:41, 7 July 2012 (UTC) There is in fact a mention of Ri on the autoantibody site- it's in the table under "Anti-neuronal nuclear antibody-2", and that's where the Disambiguation needed resquest was located. Unfortunately you had deleted the link prior to me being able to link them up properly. Would it be better to create a site for "Ri autoantibody" and then link to that site? Electronic Data Capture

Dawnseeker2000,

In response to your post:

Hi, please don't copy and paste content from websites into articles. It's best to paraphrase reliable and neutral sources then cite them, but copying large amounts of text is generally not accepted. Thank you, Dawnseeker2000 01:07, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

regarding the following 3 paragraphs:

<content removed>

It would be difficult for me to paraphrase this content without loosing key details because the information provided is so specific. It speaks directly to the subject listed, is written by an industry expert who has developed this technology for each of the largest software providers in this industry, and was a large contributor to the development of this industry over the past decades. There are few people who could so specifically point out the likely development paths for this industry, and this content is shared with permission. This is reliable information, it does not contain product bias, only information about the development of the industry and it is an expert opinion, cited from the originally posted location.

I don't believe that paraphrasing this would improve the information presented, or would serve any purpose for the readers.

Your "correction" of my correction to Tampa max temp today

Hello--

As clearly shown in the NWS 1981-2010 climate norm data, August average high is now 90.5F. It's universally understood that rounding of .5 is up to the next whole #. Thus, 91F. Do you disagree? If you disagree, then you'd better round down the Aug. avg. low of 75.5F to 75F instead of the 76F that's been listed in the text for months now.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.78.53.160 (talk) 22:59, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Thank you Dawnseeker. I've quit on my first Wikipedia edit already. An experienced editor reverted the entire page more than once rather than tackling the few sections that he thought were biased. Its clear to me that this Mount Pleasant page will never see any corrections such as the spelling of Eric DeMoura's name, correcting the form of goverment with a description, adding town parks, alpha order of schools, etc. This page is forever doomed to sit with a warning at the top because old facebook editing-bullys carte blanche revert entire pages and threaten people who attempt to make changes (some excellent and some in need of bias-cleansing). You did not express yourself in that manner and I thank you. Best of luck in Wiki-editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carolinaedits (talkcontribs) 01:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

There is ample conversation about this issue in the blogosphere and there is no response to the letter's claims. The letter itself provides a careful description of Shibli Nomani's descendants. Just as Nomani "states" that she is a descendent of Shibli Nomani, the letter's author "rejects" that claim. There is nothing controversial about the fact that Asra Nomani has made the claim, and similarly there is nothing controversial about the fact that people have rejected that claim. The reader can draw her own conclusion. Saghias (talk) 20:56, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

I noticed you removed an external link at the Easter Island page. I reverted your change, since the linked page is highly relevant to Easter Island, containing extensive info on culture, history, travel tips etc. If you have any comments, please send me a message. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.225.215.199 (talk) 10:20, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

cities/municipalities

Hi Dawnseeker2000, the reason I have a topic definition (in bold) twice in some articles of Maldonado and Canelones departments, is that there are now municipalities with the same name as their main cities. So until I get all the municipality stubs ready (for which very little can be said at this time) I am disambiguating within the article by adding a second definition to it. The reason is that some users, seeing the population and area of the municipality in some sources come and change the population and area of the towns. Hoverfish Talk 17:09, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Gotcha. I might have seen that was the plan had I perused the article history before messing with it, but didn't look till now. Good work there, Dawnseeker2000 17:20, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Corruption article vandalism (oh the irony)

Thanks for your reversion! Just wondering what's with the high level of people trying to delete entire sections and vandalise this article of all things. Seems pretty innocent and has no references to anything even vaguely controversial. Is there any way I can flag this to the greater Wikipedia editorial team so as someone takes notice? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snipergirl (talkcontribs) 19:46, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Yeah that one sees quite a bit of vandalism and though I've never added to it at all I'm already the top contributor; all just simple reverts. Good work on the expansion! Dawnseeker2000 00:05, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
NP! It's a weird one, I'm not really sure of the motivation behind it. All anonymous edits of course ;). I have to say the article is even now in a piss poor state but it's much better than it was, I think! Will continue to work on it. Snipergirl (talk) 01:43, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Correcting grammar.

'Avoid personal attacks' I would like to; but it's not that you don't have a good grasp of English grammar, it's that it's obviously not your first language!

Dear Mr. Dawnseeker2000, yes I have inserted external link into your article. I wanted to show also another options than historical and how is it doing in present day. I am sorry for that, you do not share my opinion. Next time I will ask you in advance. Best regards MK — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.168.59.58 (talk) 08:53, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Why did you remove my correct edit informing the browsing public of Eccleston's new role? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.5.255.164 (talk) 19:37, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Onopearls. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions to Navajo people because the removal of information wasn't needed or beneficial to the article itself. If you feel I was wrong or misguided in making this decision, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Onopearls (t/c) 05:29, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for noticing me!

I hope this is not annoying but...

Thank you so much for noticing me and helping me with Wikipedia! I am reading the help pages you gave me. According to those help pages I totally messed up when creating that article didn't I... But now I know more about how to create articles!

I will stick to editing for now.

I am so grateful!!! Seismologist76 (talk) 05:15, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Supervolcano

Hi, i did an edit on supervolcano, but i dont know how to cite as you are requiring.

Could you please put my edition back and do this cite tag for me?

The source is: Messages to Pedro Régis, APELOS URGENTES 2010.

We need reliable sources for anything that's added to the encyclopedia. This doesn't fit the bill. If you'd like to add something to an article first find an article in a recognized journal or newspaper (Science, Nature, Los Angeles Times) and paraphrase what's said there. Hope this helps, Dawnseeker2000 18:21, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Conflicting Sources on Phil Harris Birthdate

I noticed that you reverted User:169.244.47.131's November, 2012 edits to the Phil Harris (fisherman) article in which the user changed Harris's birthdate from December 21, 1956 to December 19, 1956. While the New York Times article you cited lists his birthdate as December 21, 1956, another source cited in the article, Harris's biography on the official Cornelia Marie website which is maintained by the boat's current owners lists his birthdate as December 19, 1956. In addition, Harris's IMDb profile listed under the article's "External Links" section also lists December 19, 1956 as his birthdate. Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue would be most appreciated. --TommyBoy (talk) 08:48, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

I have initiated a discussion regarding the accuracy of Harris's birthdate on the article's Talk page, and I would like to invite you to share any thoughts you may have on the question. --TommyBoy (talk) 05:13, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
