Greetings from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Three Kingdoms
[edit]Hi, I see you have been editing some Three Kingdoms related articles lately (especially those involving Wu), would it interest you to join our Wikipedia:WikiProject Three Kingdoms, the place for coordinated efforts regarding all Three Kingdoms related articles? It's a bit lacking in activity so all new blood is welcomed. As a start, it might be useful to have a look at the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (use of Chinese language) to keep in mind while writing articles. Keep on the good work, cheers :) _dk (talk) 06:50, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Three Kingdoms people lists
[edit]Hello, you appear to be knowledgeable about the Three Kingdoms. Please take a look at User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/List of people of the Three Kingdoms and User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/List of fictional characters of the Three Kingdoms period. I'm intending to move them into the mainspace when the description columns for the first page are filled in. Any ideas on how the descriptions should be written? I hope you can help me correct my mistakes in the birth and death years and ancestral homes for the first page, if you find any. Thanks. Moving Fei Yi to Bi Yi
[edit]Please explain. According to WP:NC-ZH, pinyin should be used, which means that the Cantonese pronunciation should not. You seem to assert that not only should it be pronounced "Bi" in Cantonese, but in Mandarin as well. I have never heard of such a thing, but if you have a source supporting the assertion, please cite it. Otherwise, the article will be moved back and your changes will be considered vandalism and dealt with accordingly. --Nlu (talk) 15:01, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- In light of what I just saw you wrote on Talk:Fei Yi, I am going to assume good faith and not treat it as vandalism, but in light of your own admission there that you don't know how it's pronounced in Mandarin, I am going to move it back. Please, in the future, read up on WP:NC-ZH (and other naming convention issues that are not necessarily Chinese-related). --Nlu (talk) 15:12, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Actually 費禕's pronunciation is not a controversy (at least not when I was in HK). That's why i didn't put the following ref in the main article earlier (I thought a "name issue" section like the one in Lady Zhen was unnecessary)
《论语·雍也章》:“费音秘,为去声……费,季氏邑” 《辞源》also says the last name sounds "Bi" 费姓音“秘"
I'm too lazy to translate the ref. I knew u guys could understand Chinese. The particular character 費禕 appears in 出師表, which is taught in HK high school, so a 13 year old should know that.----EkmanLi (talk) 02:03, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- As I said earlier, I apologize for the tone, but I still do not believe that a move is proper. Please direct further discussion to Talk:Fei Yi. --Nlu (talk) 02:13, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Battle of Xiaoyao Ford
[edit]Hi, check out User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/Battle of Xiaoyao Ford. I'll move it into the mainspace if it's fine. Any idea what to do with the current Battle of Hefei? I'm thinking of converting it into a dab page. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 04:57, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, I also think that the current article of Battle of Hefei should be split (I brought the issue up in its talk page, but forgot about that). The thing I notice from the article is that there should be more info. regarding the geographical settings, btw there were 2 Hefei fortresses.----EkmanLi (talk) 06:04, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Would you like to help with the geographical part? You're welcome to include a section about it on the sandbox page. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 06:27, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- I would like to, but I'm having final papers and sch. works lately. Guess I can only help later...T^T --EkmanLi (talk) 06:31, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Please take your time. I'm not intending to move it into the mainspace so soon. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 06:35, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Pang Tong
[edit]Hi, can you help me translate the following section taken from Pang Tong's SGZ biography: (性好人倫,勤於長養。每所稱述,多過其才,時人怪而問之,統答曰:「當今天下大亂,雅道陵遲,善人少而惡人多。方欲興風俗,長道業,不美其譚即聲名不足慕企,不足慕企而為善者少矣。今拔十失五,猶得其半,而可以崇邁世教,使有志者自勵,不亦可乎?」) I don't quite understand what it means. Your help would be appreciated. I've already added it as a hidden section in Pang Tong#Early life already, by the way. Thanks. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 05:30, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
- I believe the passage says Pang was an appraiser, and his appraisal focused on moral than capabiliy. I would translate the passage in this way: Pang was fond of ethical lessons, and he consisently worked hard to keep his moral standard. Whenever he appraised a character, he always overpraised. When someone came up to him and asked him why he did that, Pang replied by saying the country was in chaos wherein good people were overwelmed by evil people, so he wanted to encourage good people by giving them a better (exaggerated) reputation in order for others to follow the good acts. EkmanLi (talk) 19:27, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the translation. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 03:01, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- I've added the translated text to Pang Tong#Early life. Please feel free to make any corrections if you feel that it's inaccurate. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 03:15, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Lu Su
[edit]Any ideas on how to write a "In fiction" section for Lu Su? I was thinking of using some of the more memorable stories involving Lu Su from the novel to reflect how he was portrayed the novel as compared to in actual history. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 11:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orders of battle
[edit]Hi, can you help us check the orders of battle recently added by User:Kamek98 to Revolt of Tianshui, Battle of Jieting, and Battle of Wuzhang Plains? Well, he appears to be using Moss Roberts' Three Kingdoms as a source. Thanks. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 12:07, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Please ignore my earlier message above. I've reverted Kamek98's edits because I'm starting to seriously doubt the credibility of his edits. However, I still hope that you can help to check his edits when you're free. Thanks. =) Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 14:31, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Battle of Jiangling (223)
[edit]I've added some refs in the order of battle section. Yes, I agree it's not necessary to have a ref for every participant, so maybe you can help to move those refs into the main sections, in a more meaningful way as you've said. Thanks. PS: I requested refs for every single participant because I didn't trust the article's creator, User:Kamek98, who previously pulled stunts on me and User:Deadkid dk and caused quite a big disturbance.
