Warnings

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jean-Michel Basquiat. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Twixister (talk) 05:08, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) An edit that places facts about and consolidates his personal life information is not unconstructive or vandalism.

It is unconstructive when it's not properly cited. You make repetitive edits without an explanation which are poorly cited even after being notified, that constitutes as vandalism. I've going to nominate the Jean-Michel Basquiat article to become a good article and your citations not sufficient. Please make a new section on the article's talk page before adding completely new sections, so other editors can weigh in as well. Most of Basquiat's relationships were with women, some who were notable in his life and they're mentioned in the article. I've added his involvement with Klaus Nomi and how he allegedly worked as a male prostitute as a teenager. Creating a personal life sub-section just so you can write an analysis about his brief relationship with Klaus Nomi is not constructive. Rumors about his personal life is not his legacy which is the section you keep editing. You seem to be trying to promote the book "The Professor: Witnessing White Power" by Rob Redding and you don't even cite the pages. A website mentioning the book isn't sufficient. Basquiat's various relationships and drug addiction are part of his personal life and that information is intertwined into his article because they coincide with his career. Basquiat was never married and didn't have any children, so a personal life section isn't necessary and opens up room for gossip such as your edits.Twixister (talk) 23:00, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) I am not sure why your setting the bar higher for the cite than others have to meet. The boyfriends account of his involvement and his subsequent involvement with Nomi is vital. Further, your analysis of just how queer Basquiat really was reeks of homophobia. He does not have to have children to have a personal life section. Many queer people get personal life sections who don't have children. I will repost the Redding content with a page number of 16, as we disagree on this matter. Simply put, it is not vandalism to consolidate the information in a push for a more complete history of his involvement with men and women, as my edits have already made the bio more complete.

Please sign your name at the end when your post when you write on any talk page. You have been on Wikipedia for years so you should familiarize yourself with the rules. This is not about my sexual preference. I added his relationship with Klaus Nomi to the article and how he may have worked as a prostitute in his teenage years, but that is not sufficient enough for you. You are not citing properly. The standards are the same for everyone. Stating the page number in the article isn't sufficient. You even misspell Basquiat's name with your edits. A person does not need to be married or have children to have a personal life section, but in some cases like with Basquiat, his personal life coincides with his career and it's all in the biography. You don't mention his many public relationships with women in your personal life section, only Suzanne because it supports what you want to post about his bisexuality. You simply want to emphasize a fling that neither party ever publicly talked about. Redding's opinion on how important he believed Basquiat's relationship with Klaus Nomi is not vital. Klaus Nomi was not the first or last white person Basquiat was involved in. Please begin a new topic in Talk:Jean-Michel Basquiat with this information that you keep adding so that other editors can weigh in because I don't think your edits are constructive to his article.Twixister (talk) 17:31, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Jean-Michel Basquiat. Twixister (talk) 17:43, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) A misspelling does no mean that I am not right to add a personal section. Redding's book speaks about his entire relationship with a black gay man, your analysis does not deal with that. This is why I am citing Redding. I will ask for a compromise to settle this. What if we abandon the personal life section and add a line about Pierre Francillon and his claim of being an early boyfriend to the artist? Again, I am citing Redding because he is the only person who has the full story.

Here is more information on Pierre Francillon Here is his picture with Basquiat: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10154331430433420&set=ecnf.571288419 Here is an article about how close they were: https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-bicyclist-assault-brooklyn-baseball-bat-pierre-francillon-20210222-y633ttn3kzge3huf7y745dxxxy-story.html

Hi I am not sure why this page is a problem. The last one was deleted because it had problems. This one relies on reliable sources. I don't think we need to be marginalizing bisexual people of color. Gregpolk (talk) 23:02, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My argument is the same here. This website is linked to and mentioned in the Washington Post, NPR....I am not sure why this man or his web site are being targeted? Gregpolk (talk) 23:05, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. none of what I have done is racist. I simply noticed a recreation of an article that was previously deleted (luckily there is probably notability for Redding). You are a single-purpose account who has made little edits outside this topic, and possibly have a conflict of interest. I suggest that you follow these guidelines (I forgot to give them to you the first time) wizzito | say hello! 03:07, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Timothy french

[edit]

Hello, Gregpolk, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Timothy french, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timothy french.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
