Communism
[edit]I thought that some of your changes were worth considering. They all seem to have been reverted. I don't know why. Maybe they shouldn't be in the intro, but I would think they should be somewhere. Student7 (talk) 19:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Jimmy. Thanks for your question on my user page. I remember leaving an edit summary on the page to explain that the Columbia reference you added seemed, to be, to be POV because the quote claimed that communism differs from socialism in that communism is revolutionary, thus suggesting that socialism is reformist. I cant see that edit summary there now, so I must have done something wrong. However, that deleted view seems to be simplistic, and inaccurate. Revolutionary socialism exists, and the Second International also had a revolutionary orientation. --Duncan (talk) 09:37, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Darth Vader's Helmet
[edit]A tag has been placed on Darth Vader's Helmet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 06:50, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Darth Vader's helmet
[edit]I have nominated Darth Vader's helmet, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Darth Vader's helmet. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? seresin ( ¡? ) 03:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Look, dude, I don't think it's going to end up becoming an article unto itself. Maybe - maybe - a section of Darth Vader. I really wouldn't get my hopes up as a separate article. The content is on /Helmet, in any case. ♠PMC♠ 04:59, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- My problem wasn't so much the writing style, that wasn't bad (believe me, I've seen bad). It was more the subject matter itself. I'd say the same thing about a well-written article on, say, Gene Simmons' tongue or someone else's famous accessory. *shrug* Like I said, good luck making it part of the Darth Vader article. ♠PMC♠ 01:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
