Sandbox
[edit]Hallo, I have noticed your sandbox page contains non-English text. Would you be kind enough to move it to the Wicipedia page here? Many thanks. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 02:37, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hey. I've been using my English sandbox to translate articles for the Welsh Wicipedia as the Welsh version doesn't have VisualEditor and I find the basic editor too fiddly and time-consuming. Should I not be doing this? Llusiduonbach (talk) 17:04, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi again. You might be happy to know that Welsh Wikipedia now has VisualEditor! You can move your draft there now and leave your sandbox page for English articles. Thanks! <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 15:13, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- That's great. Thank you! Llusiduonbach (talk) 16:09, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, your draft article /sandbox was rejected for inclusion on English Wikipedia as it was not written in English. SomeGadgetGreek had submitted it for admission. Once a draft article is rejected, it starts appearing on lists of material that might be selected as candidates to be deleted from Wikipedia, so it might be a good idea for you to copy your draft article over to the Welsh Wikipedia sooner rather than later, as it might disappear. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 15:01, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

- Just FYI, Writing non-English articles on English Wikipedia may cause you problems, if you use templates or other tools to build your article, as English wikipedia typically has only English versions of these, and may not have the required templates at all. Or if you use an English template, you may find that the equivalent template does not exist on the other language Wikipedia. Or the template may exist in the other language but not on English Wikipedia. Or they may not have the same functionality. Many templates on English Wikipedia have more features than in other languages. You also need to take care with images, some images only exist on English Wikipedia, or the other language Wikipedia, so you should take care to select only images that exist on Wikimedia Commons, if you want the image to appear on your draft article in English Wikipedia and still appear when you transfer the article. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for June 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Manx language, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Comparative degree. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reminder
[edit]I think a lot of people don't know this, but if you're copying and pasting between Wikipedia pages (for example, from your sandbox to an article, or the other way around) in the visual editor, then you'll get better results if you first click the "Edit" button to open the page that you want to copy from. If you copy from "Read" mode, then some of the templates and things get mangled. I hope this trick makes your editing easier! WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:57, 17 June 2016 (UTC)
