Takemitsu: congratulations!

[edit]

Great to hear about the successful promotion of this article, Matt. I enjoyed having a small part in that. Call on me for work in other music articles, if you like.

Best wishes!

I just created this new article about the composition competition that honours Takemitsu. I know you're really into Takemitsu's work and life so maybe you have some more info and could help to improve it. Cheers --Karljoos (talk) 00:04, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contemporary music

[edit]

Hey Matt.kaner, I’m working I putting together a WikiProject Contemporary music. I thought I’d ask if you would be interested in joining. Congratulations on the Tōru Takemitsu page btw. I especially love all the music examples. --S.dedalus (talk) 06:35, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Matt-- and great work on the Takemitsu article-- congratulations! Right, I have access to the more general texts-- the Burt book also, and I'll use that for some more information. I don't have access to the journal articles or dissertations, which would be valuable for any kind of real discussion of the music in the piece... making my own comments/analysis based on the score, would be "Original research" unfortunately... I suppose if I really look around, I'll be able to track down something more substantial than basic composition/performance history though... Eventually I'd like to see articles on other important Takemitsu pieces, as well as major works by some other important 20th century composers-- Yun I-sang, Xenakis, Varese, Messiaen, Ligeti... Anyway, thanks for the note. Hope to see you around, regards. Dekkappai (talk) 03:30, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
