User talk:Nukemason
I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Wrong edit
[edit]Hi you recently added this to the White American article:
"As can be seen by anyone with an ounce (or, dare I say, femtogram) of common sense, the individual who typed the above paragraphs is most deluded. The very notion that Indians would find mention under the "White American" wikipedia article is so hilariously messed up and divorced from reality as to be beyond words (in fact, beyond words AND concepts).
In short, there do not exist white Hindus, Sikhs or Muslims. There do however, exist Colourblind White Americans - perhaps such individuals deserve more of a mention than 'White South Asians (loL)'."
While I agree with your racial assessment, adding such comments in regards to editors can be considered vandalism. Besides you'll surely agree that stating: "the individual who typed the above paragraphs is most deluded," is going to hurt WP's credibility. So please, next time, use the discussion page. Thank you. Please don't editorialize Wikipedia articles
[edit]Please stop the pattern of interpolating personal interpretations or opinions of things you don't agree with into the text of Wikipedia articles. This can be considered vandalism. It gives other editors unnecessary work in reverting this. If you have a problem with the text as it is, either fix it, or if lacking the willingness or ability to do so, post a comment on its talk page. In doing so, please remain civil. Uncivilized comments on the contributor violate the policy of no personal attacks. Thank you. --LambiamTalk 06:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
This is something that is too vague and too ambiguous to be acted upon. How do I 'interpolate' personal interpretations INTO the Wikipedia articles? I'm either inputting fact or fiction! Pray do give some examples of what you mean by the above comment (something that, given the totally subjective nature of the above comment, is a necessary prerequisite to knowing what on earth you're talking about!).

Moving pages in bad faith is vandalism and can result in a block. Gazpacho 20:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
This very much depends upon your definition of bad faith. I would say that the name change was along the lines of slight humour. Perhaps playing devil's advocate. Of course, it may have pissed you off - but being the butt of a joke can have this effect (especially if you are the type of individual who totally lacks any sense of humour). If memory serves me correctly the cold war ended 20 years ago.
Given the above evidence, I feel that a block is quite harsh. Nukemason 23:02, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Based on your above comment, you deserve longer than 24 hours. But I don't make those calls. I didn't even ask for you to be blocked. Gazpacho 22:12, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Poverty in India
[edit]Have replied to your discussion of poverty in India (on the India discussion page). The introduction (3rd paragraph) has information on poverty and some links. It still needs more discussion in the main text. Fowler&fowler 05:54, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Please stop!
[edit]Please stop moving and inserting rants into articles about race. If you continue you will be blocked. SchmuckyTheCat 16:29, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Inflammatory comments and racism
[edit]I am referring to your edits here: Talk:British Asian. They are not appropriate, and continued use of them can lead to you being blocked. I shall now post the standard warnings to your talk page, and would make a plea to you to stop making personal attacks, racist attacks, and other such remarks. Martinp23 16:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Martinp23 16:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by administrators or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. Martinp23 16:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
