Removals
[edit]Hi Ravichandar84. In this edit, you removed some "unnecessary links". You also removed 3 portals.
I thought an article always benefited from at least one portal, which should go into a 'See also' section. I also thought that the links were relevant, and filled in white space in that section.
May I ask you what harm you thought the portals and links were doing?
Please reply here, and I'll watch out for it. Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 02:24, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- Firstly, you might notice that there are over 7,000 articles under Wikiproject Tamil Nadu. This being the case, I don't understand why you chose to add Tamil Nadu and Tamil people to the article on Chetan (actor). AFYKI, as there are thousands of television actors from Tamil Nadu. So, unless, there is a specific need to identify himself exclusively as a Tamilian through such portal links or "See Also" why should they be added there in the first place. And by the way, WP:MOS does not lie any stress on filling white spaces. Regards-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 02:35, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

This is me "hari7478" requesting for help: Please help in the "Iyengar" page.
[edit]Hello. Please include the Iyengar page in your watch list, and please check the article’s contents, whenever you log in to wiki’. Actually there had been an edit warring in that page, due to which the page is fully protected for two weeks. The protection expires on MARCH 2nd (Wednesday). The once disputed section in the Iyengar page was Ethnicity, Genetics and Origin. ; especially the sub-section that was disputed was “Thenkalai Iyengar” under that section. The contents under the section Ethnicity Genetics and Origin are the same as found in the individual Vadakalai and Thenkalai pages. I guess you must have seen and reviewed the contents under the section “Ethnicity and Origin”, in both the “Vadakalai” and “Thenkalai” wiki’ pages. All of them have valid sourcing. The same has been uploaded ,collectively together, in the main Iyengar page too(for the past 7 months). Presently, as of today, the article(under full protection) is fine, but after the protection period is over, a user(user:ramanujamuni) will start making vandalising edits. This user has been making unconventional edits due to which an edit warring had started. Hence the page is under full protection. I request you to please check for the integrity of the Iyengar page frequently, and revert any vandalising edits. Please read further below.
The edit warring had started due to conflicting edits from a user “user-ramanujamuni”. I guess this user (“ramanujamuni”) is a thenkalai iyengar, who is very uncomfortable with the data “Thenkalai are believed to have admixed with non-brahmins”, etc. The user “ramanujamuni” was constantly deleting those contents , and was contributing irrelevant data without providing any source. That user “ramanujamuni” is actually a one tick pony, who had newly come to wiki’ ,for editing in the iyengar page only. He started with an all out warring. That user is very new to wiki’, and does not understand wiki’ policy of “Verifiability ,not Truth” . The user “ramanujamuni” has been making vandalising edits, till the page was put under full protection. He had been violating all basic policies of wiki’. That user had also falesly accused me(everywhere) in unconventional ways. The user accused me falsely, of maliging thenkalai sampradaya, npov dispution etc. I never maligned any sampradaya, and there are no malicious terms in the page. The iyengar page is clean(as of now-present revision) and the sensitive contents , have valid sources and addintional sources for cross checking. “User-Ramanujamuni” also constantly rejected the authority of source materials , and had been deleting the sources I provided, because the data was not agreeable to him.
I request you to please include the Iyengar page in your watch list, and please check it frequently for vandalising edits. Also if there are inconsistencies in my edits, please make the changes. But I repeat, my contrib’s in the page, under the section “Ethnicity, Genetics and Origin” are the same as found in the individual “Vadakalai” and “Thenkalai” pages . I’m sure you had seen them. But “user-ramanujamuni” was removing valid contents from the “thenkalai iyengar sub-section, under the corresponding section” in the iyengar page. Presently, as of today(Feb’ 27 2011) , the page is under protection, and the present version(revision) is just fine. See here : [1].
But after the protection period expires, I’m afraid that user will come back to the picture again. So I request you; please check frequently, for the contents in the Iyengar page. The article has been lacking a good experienced editor, for more than a year. Thank You. Hari7478 (talk) 14:12, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
