Just seeing that this worked. T L Miles (talk) 20:37, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

for the Africa award. I wish I at this point actually deserved it, though. There are still a few problems getting the separate assessment parameters to appear as they should. I'm in the process of basically completely copying the Australia banner, which will change the looks of things but should with luck get the separate importance assessments to show up accurately. I wanna remember to work on this:

Villages in Niger

Hi,

You created Category:Villages in Niger. There's already Category:Cities, towns and villages in Niger. Is there a good reason to keep "Villages in Niger"? Currently there's only one article in it. I think that it should be just merged into "Cities, towns and villages", unless Niger has a well-established way of deciding what's a city, a town and a village.

To see how problematic this issue is, see for example [[Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2008 February 26#Category:Cities in New Zealand. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

I merged them as this is the best way to avoid confusion over what is a city, town or village. Hey hope you like the new pin maps notably Senegal and Gambia!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:49, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks we need as many editors as possible to work on African articles as it is an enormous continent and covers a substantial amount of the earth surface and the balance of cocverage at present is as it expected diabolical. I;ve begun reorganizing the structure of them and tagging them and then adding infoboxes to all of the places. See the cities in Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Republic of the Congo etc and they all have infoboxes which is a major improvement. When this is done I'll be aiming to add lots of new articles like Koré Maïroua, Akwidaa, Mogolo etc and fill in as much as I can in the time I've got. The size of some of these African countries is vast and some contain over 30,000 settlements. I doubt there is a country in the world on wikipedia or Africa I haven;t edited but this encyclopedia cannot go on ignoring much of a whole continent. I can only hope that eventually more info becomes avwilable. Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 21:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:P. Sông Lam Nghe An.jpg

Ifan

It is a basic rule of Wikipedia that where titles are the same when treated case-insensitively, then there should be only one article and the other capitalisations should be redirects. I have therefore moved the institute to Institut Fondamental d'Afrique Noire and made IFAN a redirect. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 14:19, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article Ivory Coast incomplete

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Ivory Coast to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 19:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello, The information you added on the alleged death of Mr Césaire diff turned out to be wrong. Please consider reading Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Teofilo talk 16:55, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Mr Césaire is not Senegalese. In the future wait for confirmation of the news in French or Caribbean mainstream papers. Teofilo talk 17:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

You may not be aware of this, but this article - to which you are a major contributor - has been nominated as a featured article candidate by manchurian candidate - though it does not yet appear to be ready for FAC. Perhaps you could comment on the FAC page? Thanks, --ROGER DAVIES talk 15:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism on Cote d'ivoire

I did not vandalize this page. I reverted it and then you came and reverted it back to the vandalism. I realize you were trying to do the right thing but I don't appreciate being accused of the very thing I am working to correct.Jester5x5 (talk) 21:19, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
