A big part is that in two of the biggest fights in the last three years she did a poor job - Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley and Floyd Mayweather vs. Saúl Álvarez. Since its multiple events, it takes it out of WP:BLP1E.RonSigPi (talk) 16:14, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Keep in the boxing community, CJ Ross is highly notable and often referenced. I think she clearly meets WP:GNG. For some WP:GNG citations see [1] (start about :40), [2], [3], [4], and [5]. Further, the citations go outside of sport, such as by business (see [6]) and entertainment (see [7]) sources. In short, in boxing circles, CJ Ross is highly notable. I don't think that works since there is a lot of relevance to the Pacquiao-Bradley fight (probably more so since the scoring made the fight outcome change whereas in the Mayweather-Alvarez fight it didnt actually change the win/loss outcome). Here are a number of references that predate the Mayweather-Alvarez fight and show notability outside that single fight - [8], [9], [10], [11], and [12]. In view of this, I don't think redirect is appropriate. RonSigPi (talk) 19:40, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Ross, is very well known throughout the boxing community for her 20 years of dedication. She's been featured in a plethora of reliable sources throughout such time. She Meets WP:NI'm sure others would like to see some improvement to the page. She's judged over 100 bouts and made a huge commitment to her sport. The whole page shouldn't be primarily about her failures for two-big fights alone. C.dunkin (talk) 06:10, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you could link to some of "plethora of reliable sources" that feature her (and that don't involve "her failures for two-big fights") that would probably end this discussion in a hurry. Mdtemp (talk) 16:47, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment she could pass WP:N per significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. Being a boxing enthusiast, I understand she played a much more important role in the sport than just the two fights. I've included an article below that shows such appreciation. I will work on gathering some more sources.

"Now that the dust has settled, a look at Ross". boxinginsider.com. Sean Crose. Retrieved 18 November 2013. The article notes:

A look at Ross’ record over the past five years or so indicates a rather solid job performance. In the one hundred matches Ross has worked since November of 2008, thirty-eight ended with split judging of some form or other. Of those thirty-eight, Ross ruled differently from her fellow judges on about eighteen occasions. Not exactly the record of some wily renegade. In fact, a quick background check on Ms. Ross appears to present one irrefutable fact: that overall, the woman has been, at the very least, adequate, and perhaps even quite good, at her job.

Being "adequate" (or even "good") at your job does not make you notable.Mdtemp (talk) 16:29, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Two more articles based on the Mayweather fight which is why I suggested a redirect.Mdtemp (talk) 19:59, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Out of curiosity, what about the five references I found on the Bradley-Pacquiao? I think that establishes that there is a lot out there on that fight as well (I am sure there are many more than 5, but thought that was a good number to overcome the WP:BLP1E concerns). I think it should be added that many of the Mayweather sources reference the Bradley-Pacquiao in decent detail so the 'Mayweather sources' can be considered Bradley-Pacquiao as well. That is why I don't redirect is appropriate, but was wondering why you still thought there should be a redirect considering the numerous Bradley-Pacquiao fight sources.RonSigPi (talk) 23:46, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
