IP blocked - 24.9.80.0/20 - hardblocked for 3 months. There's very little in there other than Primetime and /20 is pretty narrow so there should be little if no collateral damage - Alison 01:17, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Ghntghjn (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

information Note: - Will Beback asked me to take another look at this and, while I'm loath to rangeblock, there *is* one range where a softblock could be effective here. A lot of the above accounts are over multiple IPs, but the range 24.9.64.0/18 has been used extensively - I count almost a dozen new socks since yesterday's check already on that range. I recommend softblocking this range for a while - Alison 00:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Supporting evidence:

At Mac OS X, Knowhands enjoykeep has ignored consensus and breached WP:3RR resulting in two 3RR blocks.[4][5] An autoblock then occurred after he used his IP address was used for edit warring.[6] I suspect this was to avoid the username block.

Today, in two separate instances, he restored some of his previously deleted edits and after they were reverted by other editors he reverted twice to his versions.[7][8] After the second reversion his edit was reverted and Knowhands enjoykeep has not re-edited. However, 31 minutes after his last reversion Fdgdf3, a new user, reverted to Knowhands enjoykeep's version.[9] His second edit on Wikipedia was also to revert to Knowhands enjoykeep's version after it had again been reverted.[10] These are the only edits made by Fdgdf3. Fdgdf3 has now breached 3RR by reverting twice more on the same page.[11][12]

Given the throwaway name used, Fdgdf3's limited and specific edit history, the appearance of Fdgdf3 soon after the mysterious "disappearance" of Knowhands enjoykeep and Knowhands enjoykeep's edit & block history I strongly suspect that Fdgdf3 is a sockpuppet of Knowhands enjoykeep, created by him in order to avoid a further 3RR breach and subsequent block. --AussieLegend (talk) 07:56, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Kjngjkn has now replaced both Knowhands enjoykeep and Fdgdf3, edit warring on Mac OS X, List of sexual slurs and Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming. He has also placed several random and unjustified warnings on my talk page.[13] Based on this edit summary at List of sexual slurs and the limited edit history which targets pages edited by the administrator who blocked Knowhands enjoykeep the editor is most likely another sockpuppet of Knowhands enjoykeep. --AussieLegend (talk) 12:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See the SSP case at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Knowhands enjoykeep. EdJohnston (talk) 15:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Though the puppetteer and all five socks are now indef blocked, since new socks keep appearing I hope that checkuser can do something that might lead to a block of the underlying IP. EdJohnston (talk) 16:48, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's no rush to complete this requet. These are all obvious socks, so we're just looking for other sleeper accounts and open proxies. However it's worth noting that most of these accounts were created months ago. The user knitted a drawer full of socks even when no one was challenging him. For that reason a little extra care in looking for other sleepers now could be useful down the road. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 12:44, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm about done here. The yield from any individual check is too low to make it worth my time. Has anyone tried a complaint against his provider? At least one of his main providers would be amenable to a complaint, I think. Thatcher 22:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it may be time to lodge a complaint with the service provider. Are there directions for how to prepare one? Would it be better for a checkuser, with access to IPs, to do so? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 02:44, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk assistance requested: Archive please, we're done here. Thatcher 02:05, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See previous requests for history. Primetime has been using Gnfgb2 without detection for many months. Once that account was tagged and blocked he created several more to send spam through the email link. This request is to make sure he doesn't have any sleeper accounts. If he's using a fixed IP it should be blocked for an extended period. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 22:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Primetime (12th request)

[edit]

Primetime is a regular returnee. He's a disruptive editor, hard-banned by Wales for cause, who has used numerous puppets. I'm not aware of any request to be unbanned.

User:Richard Maxwell is undoubtedly the same user. User:Adding content to page is another PT account. User:Libs23 is an editor who shows some resemblance to Primetime.

Please check for similar accounts as well. -Will Beback · · 16:30, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed Richard Maxwell and Adding content to page, as well as:

Libs23 is  Inconclusive, as it is on an open proxy. Dmcdevit·t 21:54, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if Pesmn (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) might also be him, since all this user has done is to revert my speedy tags on several of Primetime's image uploads. Primetime (eighth request)

I did a little browsing of Primetime's back catalog, and lo, more stuff. Since open proxies are his M.O., these ought to be checked.

Too old to check

Re-adding copyright violation to Reinhard Sorge -- the violation which got him busted in the first place -- and to John Abbey. Looking over the list of copyright violations from his user page, all the links which I recall being red are now blue: perhaps an admin can compare the new articles with the deleted copyvios. --Calton | Talk 02:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note • Just so this is clear to the presiding checkuser, the discussion of the community ban is Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive47#Wiktionary_user. The old accounts you found can't be checked technically, you'll have to go on behavior and contribs. Thatcher131 18:48, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I figured as much, but I thought I'd give it a shot, especially if a checkuser had been run previously I was unaware of and someone had kept the records. In any case, the list is really for the benefit of admins who can compare the material inserted with that which was deleted from the history, something an ordinary user such as myself cannot do. --Calton | Talk 01:01, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up
Is there a chance that I have conflated two sets of sockpuppets?
user:Macaw 54, user:HQCentral, user:Herodas, and user:Don Wiki Carlos-Jeméz all show edit patterns that are strongly similar to those of Primetime.
However I've received emails from user:Balthazarduju saying that he's the puppet master of only User:Fundelelu, User:Joycedula, User:Thewallowmaker, User:Andrepalis, User:Ghislainfun, User:Callicunno, User:Daudulaka, User:Bergmanesque, and User talk:Indefinitevirtue. He claims to have no knowledge of Primetime. The edit patterns of those editors show some overlap with Primetime, but also some differences. The edit pattern is the same as those of the 67.2.145.xxx, 67.2.148.xxx, and 67.2.149.xxx anon and that's also consistent with the IPs on his emails.
(This user also claims that user:Mikesamras and user:RevolverOcelotX are not his socks.)
If this is true then user:Balthazarduju may need to cut back on the use of socks, but he is not a banned user. -Will Beback 05:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC) [amended 08:35, 17 November 2006 (UTC)][reply]

Primetime3

[edit]

Code letter: F (I was told on Wikipedia talk:Requests for checkuser to use code F for Jimbo Wales bans)

Proof of Jimbo Wales ban: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/block?page=User%3APrimetime

I first posted an unblock request on Wiktionary at wikt:Wiktionary:WikiProject on open proxies for an IP that had been recently unblocked at WP:OP because it was proven not to be an open proxy on Wikipedia. The unblock request was denied. The IP address was initially believed to be an open proxy that Primetime used, but it turned out to be his current home IP address because it was used for his style of copyvios on Wiktionary, and it is known that he uses Comcast as his ISP according to WP:'T. I then looked this address's block log and talk page here, and found that the address was blocked for a month due to CheckUser evidence. I am guessing that it came from the Jfreem;555 case in the IP check section, where 68.39.174.238 guessed that this account was a Primetime sockpuppet (which is still not blocked). That case is now listed as "Done." Please check to see if this account is another Primetime sock. You might want to consider extending the block on this copyvio specialist's address. Primetime2

[edit]

Primetime has been been permanently banned by user:Jimbo Wales for egregious copyright violaitons, yet has expressed his intention to keep returning. He previously created dozens of obvious sockpuppets here and on other Wikimedia projects: see Wikipedia:Long term abuse/Primetime and Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Primetime. Most recently he's created Hhfh3, Adorno Horkheymer, and Galassi. Lute88 may be a sockpuppet, but it is not obvious, hence this request. I'd also request the usernames of any other socks that show up in RfCU so that we can block them and undo their damage as well. -Will Beback 03:28, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
