Swissuniversities

[edit]

FYI I am preparing Draft:Swissuniversities, see also this discussion. Alexmar983 (talk) 12:20, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The draft is probably almost ready, there are more sources than in other languages.--Alexmar983 (talk) 19:59, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
FYI I saved it to ns0 two weeks ago.--Alexmar983 (talk) 23:06, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Any ideas about this RFD? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:26, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Any info about this bobsledder? There's no birth date. I found an Italian newspaper (here) in which they say he was an engineer and was suspected of having murdered an Alsatian girl in 1967.-- Carnby (talk) 10:35, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Carnby Several hits on e-newspaperarchives.ch, many of which have him as the headline, and some on the archives of Le Temps. PARAKANYAA (talk) 22:43, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology of Swiss surnames

[edit]

Are there good sources about the etymology of Swiss surnames such as Camenzind, Caflisch and Caviezel?-- Carnby (talk) 06:54, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Predatory open access journal

[edit]

Hi! I've just added some content on the article about the Lauterbrunnen valley about it being a hotspot for winguite base jumping and my content has been tagged as using a predatory open acess journal. I'm a bit confused here. What went wrong ?

What I did is I copy pasted some content from the German version of the article in my sandbox than used this content to look for good keywords to search news articles. I wrote my own content directly in English, referencing with news in English when possible, but also with some content in German. As I am not used to the wikicode for Wikipedia in English (I mainly contribute in French), I then used chatgpt to put the references in the correct form (or at least I hope it is the correct form). As I said, I mostly contribute in French and I none of my content has ever been tagged as using predatory open access journal. There was a reference that was incorrect and I changed it. Is the situation OK now ? Braveheidi (talk) 18:08, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Braveheidi The WP:DOI you added was wrong, that's why it was tagged, since you fixed it later, it's fine now. Nobody (talk) 06:06, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Switzerland:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!
