[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit *द्विसर (dvisara, “two-stringed”), from द्वि (dvi, “two”) + सर (sara, “string, cord”) but with the first element following Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀤𑀼𑀯𑁂 (duve, “two”).[1]
