Verb
[edit]打⫽折 (verb-object)
- to give a discount; to give a concession
- (attributive) discounted; discount; concession
Usage notes
[edit]In Chinese, discounts are given in terms of a percentage of the original price and not the percentage off. Also, the zero in the ones place is usually omitted, so 打三折 would be understood to be 30% of the original price (i.e., a 70% discount) and not 3% of the original price.
