case up (third-person singular simple present cases up, present participle casing up, simple past and past participle cased up)

  1. (transitive) To place (something) in cases (a box that contains or can contain a number of identical items of manufacture); to be covered in a case (a box, sheath, or covering generally); to enclose or seal as if by a case.
    We have to case up those bottles.
    The computer should be cased up when you're done using it.
    The buildings around it case it up.
    The hotel should be cased up for winter.
  2. (transitive, slang, African-American Vernacular) Synonym of catch a case (to commit a crime and be arrested for it)
    I can't believe you got cased up for what happened at the store.
  3. (transitive, slang) Synonym of case (to survey (a building or other location) surreptitiously, as in preparation for a robbery)
    He cased up the nicest houses in the neighborhood.
