[edit]From Proto-Vietic *g-lɔːn (“round, full (moon)”); cognate with Muong tlòn. Compare Proto-Katuic *-lɔɔn (“to shape into a ball”), Khasi pyllon (“round”), Proto-Hmong-Mien *ɢlun (“round”) (whence Iu Mien junh (“round, circular”)). Compare also trọn.
