[edit]Inherited from Proto-Slavic *vьrgnǫti (Russian пове́ргнуть (povérgnutʹ), Polish wiergnąć), from Proto-Indo-European *werg- (Ancient Greek ἔργον (érgon), Sanskrit वर्जति (varjati)).
