Alfred North Whitehead
Alfred North Whitehead (Ramsgate, Kent, 1861eko otsailaren 15a - Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1947ko abenduaren 30a) ingeles matematikari eta filosofoa izan zen.
Bere ubilbidearen hasieran matematika, logika eta fisikaz idatzi zuen. Bere lan nagusia Principia Mathematica (1910-13) da, Bertrand Russellekin idatzia, XX. mendeko logika matematikoko lan garrantzitsuenetako bat. 1910eko hamarkadaren amaieran, bere interesa zientziaren filosofiarantz aldatu zen, eta, azkenik, metafisikarantz.
Prozesuaren filosofia definitu zuen Process and Reality lanean. Errealitatea prozesuak dira, objektu materialak baino gehiago eta prozesuak beste prozesu batzuekin dituzten harremanen arabera definitzen dira. Mundua elkarri lotutako prozesuen sare bat da. Hauteskunde personal bakoitzak ondorioak ditu inguruko munduarentzat
Bere ideiak gaur egun zibilizazio ekologikoan eta ingurumenaren etikan aplikatzen dira.
