The Age of the Understatement on brittiläisen indie rock/pop -superyhtye The Last Shadow Puppetsin debyyttialbumi, joka julkaistiin 15. huhtikuuta 2008. Se debytoi Suomen virallisen listan sijalla 111.[1]

Albumilta julkaistiin kolme singleä, "The Age of the Understatement", "Standing Next to Me" ja "My Mistakes Were Made for You".

The Age of the Understatement sai kriitikoilta positiivisen vastaanoton.[2]
