CIS-A2K conducted a review of digitisation set ups in Maharashtra from 24 to 27 April 2022. The visits were done to following institutions to evaluate the process and assessment to work done so far. Based on the observations and discussions, improvements were suggested. The advance skill training was also imparted. The day-wise program as follows -

Pune

25 April -
Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir:

  • Review of digitisation, quality issues, process improvements, training on new scanner, WS basics, future planning
  • Training session of Kime Rilla of RIWATCH on scanning, post processing
  • Skill session for Ashwini Lele, active WS editor on transclusion, database building

Bharat Itihas Sanshodhan Mandal:
This is a pioneering 100+ year old research institution having historical records from the 12th century in the form of maps, manuscripts, letters etc. as well as artifacts. It houses many reference value books, newspapers, magazines, reports etc related to history. Scope for collaboration was discussed.

Visit to various collections, Scanning trial of O Bharat newspaper volumes, estimation of total pages, training of Goa University students, discussions with librarian & other staff

29 April -
Goa University:
Meetings in library, Marathi department, library science department

Gomantak media house:
Meeting with editor director, Raju Nayak to discuss potential collaborations for Konkani & Marathi content enrichment

30 April -
Konkani Bhasha Mandal:
Meeting with key persons, demo of Wiki projects, library of PD books
