1. I realize I'm responding to a rather old question, but a late response is better than almost no responses.

   Most of the content in the Technical Code of Conduct is reasonable and similar to Wiki behavioral policies and guidelines. The items in that Code could be considered along side rules from major wikis for possible adaption. However the structure and process of Technical Code of Conduct fails badly compared to any of the wiki community processes I'm familiar with. I would firmly oppose adopting it directly or adopting it wholesale. As for specific items in that code, two jump out at the moment. The rule against photography is nonsensical for wiki, and the rule against disclosing "private communications" is absurd. If one user emails another, especially an unsolicited email, I would say there's a near unanimous expectation among the community (or at least the EnWiki community with which I'm most familiar) that the receiver can say what they received. If someone is using off-wiki channels to conspire or threaten or in any way covertly manipulate content on a wiki, then we very definitely do want that disclosed. As far as I'm aware, the wiki community rules and expectations are the exact opposite of that technical committee rule. Alsee (talk) 11:52, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

• I think the technical code of conduct is a good basis for how people should work together in Wikifunctions. Additional to that I think it is important that Wikifunctions is a project with participants from small language communities. So it is important to reduce the barriers for Contributors and to be open for different solutions. I wrote something about that at a subpage of my user page.   Re: what you're written above and at your linked-subpage - Those are good thoughts. Two notes:

  (1) I would suggest a clarification to the sentence "These functions will be used for generating texts for Abstract Wikipedia." - the functions will be usable for a lot more than that! We should be able to use the functions directly within existing pages on other wikis, similar to local Lua functions today. See the (old and brief) details here.

  (2) Can you think of any existing policies/guidelines that could be examined and/or adapted in order to encourage that kind of welcoming culture within the Wikifunctions wiki, or do you have any ideas for what a new policy/guideline like that ought to include?
