2008 Board elections |
---|
Organization |
The 2008 board election committee manages the details of the election organization within the capacity delegated to them by the Board of Trustees, subject to Board overview, and may give recommendations to the Board about the elections.
Membership
[edit]The committee consists of members appointed by the Board of Trustees to organize the 2008 Wikimedia Board of Trustees election, selected from volunteers several months prior to the election (see the archived self-nominations and questioning). Committee members must be editors of one or more Wikimedia projects, cannot be on the Board of Trustees or candidates in the election, and cannot vote in the 2008 election of trustees.

Tasks
[edit]The committee is responsible for planning and maintaining virtually every aspect of the board election. For example, the committee plans the type of voting, suffrage criteria, and criteria for candidacy, drafts and organizes all of the official election pages on Meta, verifies that candidates and voters meet the criteria, audits votes to ensure there are no duplicate votes or other problems, et cetera.
