Goals
[edit]Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
We are happy to have this project completed which is in line with #WikiForHumanRights campaign that seeks articles on global environmental issues. We conducted the 3 photowalks capturing images of the environment ranging from plastic pollution, rubbish, choked gutters, air pollution, erosion, flooding and tree planting among others. Participants were happy about this project and are ready to take part in the future project of this kind. The project also falls under the “Green Ghana Day” initiative aimed at planting 20 million seedlings of trees in a day to restore the lost forest cover of Ghana and to contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change.
Outcome
[edit]Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.
Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- What did not work so well?
- What would you do differently next time?
The Photowalk was successful as we were able to capture the images that depict the theme. Apart from the Photowalk, individuals also went around capturing images of the environment for the project course. Wikipedia was introduce to those who have no idea. Two new editors was on board, one have started contributing and has uploaded more than 60 images under this project. People need time on article creation on Wikipedia to be able to start contributing. Wikimedia Commons was easier for new editors to contribute.
