Getting "Other review tools" in Recent Changes page to default to be visible?

[edit]

At the top of the Recent Changes page is a collapsible text named "Other review tools" which is collapsed when you load the Recent Changes. Is it possible to make a gadget so this text does not start in the collapsed state but is visible when you load the page? Dipsacus fullonum (talk) 09:05, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

This can be done in JavaScript. Would you be interested? Gryllida 13:31, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, thank you. I asked because some users on dawiki have requested it. What should the JavaScript do? Dipsacus fullonum (talk) 15:26, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
document.getElementsByClassName('mw-recentchanges-toplinks-collapsed')[0].children[0].click()
This seems to work. Make it run after the page finished loading. See mw:Manual:Interface/JavaScript#Personal_scripts. Let me know if you need help? Gryllida 05:16, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Supported, compatible accessibility softwares

[edit]

I've been thinking. Well, actually, I dunno which screen readers and other accessibility softwares are supported. Neither mw:Compatibility nor mw:Accessibility tells me which accessibility softwares are supported other than specific browsers. Is this something I can raise at Phabricator? Is this something that individual projects like Wikipedia can handle by themselves? What about screen readers by major corporations like Microsoft (Narrator), Apple (VoiceOver), and Google (ChromeVox and TalkBack)? George Ho (talk) 17:41, 22 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @George Ho Do you have one of these applications and it does not work well? Or is this question about 'what do I recommend to end users'? Thanks. Gryllida 05:18, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The latter, i.e. something for end users to use. BTW, I already created Phabricator sub-tasks about whether to support certain screen readers, especially for one here that I didn't create. George Ho (talk) 06:05, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request for Assistance: Phabricator Account Disabled

[edit]

I would like to request assistance regarding my Phabricator account, which appears to be disabled. I am still able to access my Wikipedia account without issue, but when I attempt to log into Phabricator, I receive the following message: “User is Disabled. You cannot send an email login link to this email address because the associated user account is disabled.”

To the best of my knowledge, I have not violated any of Wikimedia’s policies, and I am unsure why my account was disabled. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide further clarification or guidance on the matter. If my account was disabled due to inactivity or any other reason, I would like to request its reactivation so that I can continue contributing to Wikimedia projects.

Here are my account details for reference:

@Teitei para Hi, best to bring up Phabricator issues on the Phabricator talk page which is linked from the Phabricator front page. I had disabled your account because of phab:T244280 which looked like non-constructive activity at that time. I now re-enabled your Phabricator account. AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 19:59, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@AKlapper (WMF) Thank you for re-enabling my Phabricator account and for clarifying the reason behind its previous disablement.

I wanted to mention that I was relatively new to Phabricator at the time of the activity related to phab.

I appreciate your understanding, and I am learning more about how to contribute constructively within the platform. I will be sure to follow the guidelines more closely moving forward.

If there’s any additional advice or resources you could recommend for newcomers to better navigate Phabricator, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you again for your support! Lai Tei (Teitei) (talk) 20:19, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Searching redirects from mainspace to categoryspace

[edit]

I want to search redirects from mainspace to categoryspace in Wikimedia Commons, but can't find one. Same for Bangla Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects I'm active in. Sbb1413 (he) (talkcontribs) 12:18, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by "can't find"? There are 43095 in Commons, 40 in Bengali Wikipedia and 0 in English Wikivoyage. IKhitron (talk) 13:45, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@IKhitron: I used Special:Search to find such redirects, and I wasn't aware that there was a tool for them. Sbb1413 (he) (talkcontribs) 14:29, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

a template-tracking category tracking files, talk-pages, cats'

[edit]

Could someone take a look at phab:T378262 and help find a solution. This is about ur:زمرہ:لوا پر مبنی سانچے which tracks files, talk-pages and category pages when it should only track Lua-based templates. Kind regards. signed, Aafi (talk) 13:30, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
