Kanon and Wien talk, with Wien transparently telling her about her talk with Chisato and the study abroad offer, suggesting she take a leap of faith. Kanon goes to her school, with Chisato continuing to insist that Kanon study abroad. She tells all of them that she wants to study abroad, so she can represent their school, even though they say Liella isn't what it is without her there. They all pledge to win Love Live!, together. Later, they train and work together to prepare for their performance. They sing together at the Love Live! nationals and are described as the new superstars of the competition after garnering the top prize. As Kanon is about to leave the school grounds, she faces Wien, declaring her study abroad is cancelled, shocking her.

Wien starts attending the same school as Kanon and calls her a "senpai." It is revealed that Wien was accurate: Kanon is not studying abroad, but will be staying there for a year to learn about singing from Kanon. This outcome disappoints Wien and Kanon. Wien refuses to join Liella, seeing them as the enemy, and even proposes a new school idol club to challenge them. Kanon still mulls how to tell them that she is still in Japan. Ren confronts Wien about her new club. That night, Kanon meets Chisato secretly and reveals her conditions for staying. Chisato says she will be supportive no matter what. The next day, she announces to Liella she will not be returning to them, but will be working with Wien and another girl, with the intention of bringing their groups together. She later joins Wien's school idol group. In a post-credits scene, a mysterious girl offers to join their group.
