Mother initially claims account was hacked
[edit]"Israeli authorities burst into the Tamimi home in the occupied West Bank on Monday and arrested the 22-year old for “inciting terrorism” on her Instagram account. But her mother says the account was hacked." (AP News) Mooonswimmer 19:13, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hmm, yes, in this ref she says the account was hacked, in other she is saying the account was never her daughter's to begin with. May or may be some confusion somewhere, but we should tweak the article to reflect this. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 20:18, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
- Whatever he truth here, the Israeli police do not appear to be applying the law against incitement to the many members of the IDF and the political elite who make similar remarks to that attributed to her (“the Gaza Strip should be flattened, and there should be one sentence for everyone there—death. We have to wipe the Gaza Strip off the map. There are no innocents there”Col. Erez Eshel, Officer in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) 162nd Armour Division, 4 November). I have seen somewhere one source which does mention this disparity in connection with Tamimi, but can't remember where. If my memory is not incorrect, editors should keep an eye out for such comparisons, per NPOV.Nishidani (talk) 21:23, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
- What would be the best way to proceed? Mooonswimmer 00:00, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- Exercise patience for several months, when serious analysis will begin to be published. Newspapers will not be paying attention by then, but editors should retain their curiosity. Owls fly at dusk.Nishidani (talk) 23:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- The current "denying that her daughter had anything to do with the post" sort of side-steps the issue, it's not that bad. Versions I can think of has a lot more words. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:19, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Update, sort of
[edit]"her name is not on the list of Palestinian prisoners who will potentially benefit from the swap. It only includes those arrested before October 7." Probably not worth mentioning atm. Source also says "The two imprisoned young members of the Tamimi family, Wisam and Ahed, were at least formally charged in court," but I'm not sure they mean this arrest. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:36, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- She wouldn't qualify anyway since of the 300 'prisoners' (read hostages) Israel has said it would be prepared to consider releasing in an exchange,287 are 18 or under. It's a real security risk. - Yes, all rock throwers at tanks (minus all those who attempted to murder civilians or shoot into crowds of Jews. But glad we can all see humanity amidst a tragic situation and approach this with the proper nuance. Longhornsg (talk) 06:09, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- "Attempted murder" here being what would be "attempted aggravated assault" in other jurisdictions, and contrasting with what is the daily actual murder of Palestinians. [2] Iskandar323 (talk) 08:34, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

- she is now listed for possible release in a new list of an extra 50 Palestinians in what is, appropriately, described by the Guardian article as an hostage swap. Since October 7, with 250 Israelis in Hamas's hands, Israel arrested a record 3,260 further Palestinians, in addition to the 4000 it already detains, and of these 120 are women and over 200 children. Make your own deductions, while awaiting patiently to see if RS begin to make a connection between the two, as the Guardian implicitly does.Nishidani (talk) 23:32, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

The page about Ahed Tamimi glorifies a woman (BLP violation removed). The page is protected so I cannot provide edits. She was arrested on Nov 6 by the Israel Defense Forces for "slapping" a solider and after serving an 8-month jail term she went out on a promotional tour, becoming a darling of the Palestianian cause.
This page needs to be updated and made honest by sharing what she (BLP violation removed) on her Instagram, (BLP violation removed) murdering Jews on a mass scale: "We are waiting for you in all the West Bank cities from Hebron to Jenin - we will slaughter you and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke."
In a time of inflamed antisemitism, the editors of this page need to take full responsibility for romanticising (BLP violation removed) such as Tamimi.Cite error: A <ref>

- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. we already mention this, both in the lede and in the body of the article. Cannolis (talk) 20:09, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- Sources show that her family denied that she wrote anything of the sort and her instagram was hacked for months. And it would be shocking if this were true that she would have been released. nableezy - 21:14, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

The first paragraph of the lead ends with the sentence Her book is They Called Me a Lioness (2022).
. This seems rather awkwardly worded to me, and missing some important information (like what her book is). Could this sentence be replaced with something like In 2022 Ahed published a memoir, They Called Me a Lioness
. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 10:29, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- I agree it's not a good sentence, but per Talk:Ahed_Tamimi#Mention_of_her_book_in_the_WP:LEAD I don't think the book needs to be in the WP:LEAD at all. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:42, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
Talking about Israel-Hamas war is framing.
[edit]Talking about Israel-Hamas war is a manner of framing the debate and pushing the Israeli and its supporters narrative. Why not talking about the war in Palestine or in Israel. 80.253.212.74 (talk) 07:30, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- This article is supposed to be a summary of WP:RS about, but independent of, Ahed Tamimi. Per for example Ahed_Tamimi#2023_arrest, the Israel-Hamas war is part of the article's topic, and it would be very strange not to mention it. WP has MANY articles about the Israel-Palestine conflict, see for example Category:Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
- What content do you suggest adding to what section in the article, cited to what WP:RS? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:02, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
