nasals
[edit]The page incorrectly said that nasals weren't continuants. whether nasals and oral non-stops pattern together is controversial (see, e.g., the paper on continuants by Jeff Mielke), but the traditional definition is quite clear that nasals are continuants (see Anderson's 1970s paper on this). I'll add citations later.

rhotics
[edit]This page incorrectly says that rhotics are not continuants. Rhotics do not generate a complete obstruction of airflow through the oral cavity. Nasals, however are not continuants. See Hayes 2009. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Btheb (talk • contribs) 30 April 2013
Sounds
[edit]This page sounds "sounds". i think a better way to phrase it would be Phoneme

- No, the word continuant describes a type of sound, not a type of phoneme. The terms "sound" and "phoneme" are not synonymous. Mr. Granger (talk) 02:31, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
