Pacific Ocean Fleet?
[edit]Curom, Buckshot, the current title of the article is idiotic. Please revert to normalcy. --Ghirla-трёп- 21:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please refrain from personal attacks. The current article title, as you probably realise, is a correct translation from the Russian - Pacific Ocean, not just 'Pacific'. Buckshot06 01:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- We can refrain from personal attacks - but we can also better understand and take into account foreign languages. This is the English version of Wikipedia and, therefore, we should use English usage, i.e. Pacific Fleet. The Russian word which translates "Pacific Ocean" is required in Russian otherwise the translation turns out to be "Quiet Fleet" or "Peaceful Fleet". Let's go with good English and make it "Pacific Fleet".Moryak (talk) 23:51, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
South Vietnam's Liberation
[edit]I take issue with the reference to the "liberation" of South Vietnam. I happen to live in a community with a sizable population of Vietnamese who didn't feel like sticking around after their country was "liberated." Johnsonkurtis (talk) 06:21, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- So adjust the language for a less POV tone. 114.88.203.186 (talk) 15:04, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Meh
[edit]The page is more or less effectively linked to the modern fleet, but the earlier fleet has its own separate Russian wiki page, which can be used for article expansion or splitting of a daughter article. 114.88.203.186 (talk) 15:04, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Current Fleet Section
[edit]I have updated the section to incorporate corvette-sized units (small missile ships/small ASW ships) as well as amphibious and certain other supporting units. A paragraph under "Recent Deveolopmments" has also been added to reference the modernization program underway for the 2020s. Further amendments welcome where more up-to-date information may be available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.49.98.230 (talk) 20:18, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
