Patsamo is Finnish territory

[edit]

Patsamo is Finnish territory. Russia forced Finland to cede Patsamo to itself. It is not according to free will of Finland. This is a typical aggresive action just like a robber using a rifle to force a person to give a lot of money to him. Shame on Russia. I ultimately understand why Russia is the largest country in the world.59.112.80.67 (talk) 08:48, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it doesn't change the fact that Russia own's it now. So let's keep this thing sourced and let's not fall into propagandic fervor.--Whiskey (talk) 08:52, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Finland was Hitler's Germany ally. Losers pay for their wrong decisions. As Japan gave lands to Soviets and USA, China etc. You were Hitler allies, have you a shame to talk about aggression? And Petsamo was not given into Soviet hands after Soviet invasion, it was given practically in the end of World War II. If we talk about territories all countries own in the world - we can say - USA needs to give back all land to Indians and go back to England. Lithuanians need to give back Vilnius to Poland. France needs to give back some territories to Germany etc. etc. etc. But it's nonsense, so stop talking silly things, please. History is writen by winners. By the way, Finland was first in contacting Soviets in 1944. They feared of war, so they wanted a peace. So it is like you are going to robber and giving your money to him, fearing that it will happen in the future, so let's do this faster. But as finns helped Hitler to blockade Leningrad (1 million Leningrad citizens died in blockade), so it is a right thing they must pay for their wrong decisions. Ok, i know Soviets done lot of bad things too, but it is war. No one is sweet and white. In Soviet favor is speaking that Hitler with allies were attacking Soviets first. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.84.1.247 (talk) 14:22, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How many km²

[edit]

This page claims that the Rajakoski area is 169 square kilometers, but the Finnish speaking page at https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inari claims it is 7 km² larger i.e. 176 km². Likewise, the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayakoski also claims 169 km². Does any of you knows which is true out of this mess? Thanks! 130.238.112.129 (talk) 17:51, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
