Is there any particular reason the title is "Archbishopric" of Strasbourg rather than the more common English title "Archdiocese" of Strasbourg? While technically either term is correct, the former is extremely rarely used.--Dcheney 11:47, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good question. We have several page titles with "Archbishopric of..." or "Bishopric of...". I believe "bishopric" is used mainly in historical texts... There should probably be a Wikipedia naming convention on this. Chl 23:21, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still pretty new to Wiki - how does one go about establishing a naming convention?--Dcheney 11:24, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You'd discuss it at WP:NC. One should probably look at all the articles in questions, and carefully consider all the alternatives. The German dioceses especially are in a mess right now. Chl 20:28, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh, another split. Benkenobi18 (talk) 07:46, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
