Shane Byrne (motorcyclist)Shane "Shakey" ByrneCommonly used as much as the current title within the past year. Natural disambiguation may be more suitable. George Ho (talk) 05:34, 8 March 2021 (UTC) Relisting. —Nnadigoodluck 07:17, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • No opinion If they are equally used, can't see that this would achieve anything worthwhile at this time - he is past the end of his competitive career due to spinal (neck) injuries, but has been (or possibly will be, under new 'normal') in the public mindset as a commentator/pundit/expert opinion. Anyone needing to access the article would likely recognise him as either version.
There's also the promotional aspect to consider - Shakey merchandise, also the media-handle @67shakey. The name was with him since a child, but that's of no relevance to abstract-entities reading about him 'fresh'. Remember (as someone else mentioned on WP) they (the new media writers) are there to fill the column-inches - we don't get paid by the word.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 14:35, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:NICKNAME. Nicknames are not good disambiguators. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:20, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination and per WP:NICKNAME: Avoid adding a nickname, or a contracted version of the original given name(s), in quotes, or parentheses, between first and last name (for example: Bill Clinton, not William "Bill" Clinton), unless it is the form most frequently used in independent reliable sources (see § Middle names and initials). In this case, the nickname does appear to be part of subject's WP:COMMONNAME as in this news story. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:55, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. We generally avoid constructions like this. The passage quoted above refers to the first line, not the article title. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:13, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
