Bommer Canyon
[edit]- ... that former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger praised Bommer Canyon in Irvine, California as an important "natural landmark"?
- Comment: alternate hooks welcome; perhaps ALT1 "... that, in addition to biking and hiking trails, Bommer Canyon features a former cattle ranch that can be rented for private events?;" alternate photo is [[File:Bommer Canyon Cattle Camp.jpg]]

- The date, length, and and general article content all check out, and I didn't see any copyright issues. The nominator has only one previous DYK credit, so it doesn't matter that they haven't reviewed another submission this time around. The only problem is the hook - the first hook doesn't really match the article content all that well. I don't like the second hook all that much either, as it seems a bit promotional. How about this:
- ALT2: ... that in 2008, nearly 40,000 acres of the former Irvine Ranch, including Bommer Canyon, were designated as the first California Natural Landmark?
- Also, it would be nice to see alt text for all the images. Good job on writing it, by the way! — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 09:26, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Love the alt hook, great idea! Will work on adding alt text for the article images, too. Thanks. Sueswim03 (talk) 03:40, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
- Then this is good to go, with my alternative hook 2. — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 05:19, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
