Completeness

[edit]

perhaps this should be more comprehensive, i.e. list of treaties, 'failed treaties' (EDC, EPC Constitution) and 'other documents and declarations' (charter, berlin...)? Or just keep it simple? (though I think if it were to be simple we should exclude Berlin, it wasn't that important. - J Logan t: 13:54, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's a good idea to make it more comprehensive. - SSJ  11:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Make a 'not yet ratified' treaty row for lisbon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.217.59.87 (talk) 05:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

20th-century accession treaties

[edit]

The 20th-century accession treaties are missing. There are four: DK/IE/UK (1972); GR (1981); ES/PT (1986); AT/FI/SE (1996). In total there should be 16 treaties that actually came into force, counting the Euratom 1957 and the two 1970s budgetary ones separately, and not counting Lisbon (which has been ratified for coming into force next month). – Kaihsu (talk) 11:59, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here are my notes:

1952 ECSC Treaty (Paris)
1958 EEC Treaty (Rome), Euratom Treaty (Rome)
1965 Merger Treaty
1970s two budget treaties
1973 DK/GB/IE accession
1981 GR accession
1986 ES/PT accession
1987 Single European Act in force
1992 Treaty on European Union (Maastricht)
1996 AT/FI/SE accession
1999 Treaty of Amsterdam in force
2003 Nice Treaty in force
2004 +10 accession
2007 BG/RO accession
2009 Lisbon Treaty in force
