Places I have been

Sport
[edit]Slide89 enjoys a variety of sport; ranging from Football and Rugby to the more exotic Sailing (More specifically, Dinghy sailing). Recently, Slide89 has joined the Liverpool University Boat Club and rows at 4 in the second eight.
Rugby
[edit]Slide89's Rugby career is somewhat more prestigious (not a difficult achievement) than that of his football. he played rugby since the age of 6 at Otley RUFC, where he played as an Inside Centre. This lead to national success in the 1996 West Yorkshire Under-7s Tournament, when the side were placed 3rd overall and received the bronze medal.
This success lead to a transfer to Skipton RFC where Slide89 gradually slipped into the role of a Forward before realsing his full potential as a Second Row. After a successful winning streak in the 1999-2000 season, Slide89 finally signed with Ermysted's Grammar School. He made his debut for Ermysted's Grammar School in a 48-7 defeat to Silcoates School in early September 2001
Despite being initially pleased with his transfer to Ermysted's, things quickly turned sour for Slide89 after a few years with the club. The introduction of a new Forwards Coach, the somewhat obtuse and childish Hedley Verity, saw less first team appearance for Slide89. Several public confrontations and rows ensued, which lead to Slide89's leaving of the first XV altogther. Despite trying to maintain a working relationship with Verity, Slide89 soon decided it was time to retire from rugby for the immediate future.
Early 2008 saw speculation that Slide89 was on his way to the University of Liverpool and a potential return to the game. However, upon arrival at the university, Slide89 continued to pursue his career in football.

Despite a short career at West Park in his hometown of Leeds, Slide89 never turned his attention to football until later in his life. After the decline of his rugby career due to political reasons (he fell out with the head of PE), Slide89 turned his attentions to football. Playing largely on concrete tennis courts at Ermysted's Grammar School, Slide89 quickly became part of a twice-a-week team who took on other similar teams from the school.
Slide89 really came into the public eye in late 2006, when he started playing football with his friends during free periods at school. This lead to his development as a defender and later a winger. With his naturally aggressive manner, the role of centre-back soon became home for Slide89. Later in the 2007-2008 season, his partnership with the hugely aggressive Alex "Polar Bear" Smith saw the creation of a defensive partnership that was unrivalled in free-period football.
Perhaps the highlight of an already waning career with an uncertain future was the competing of Slide89's team in numerous 5-a-side tournaments throughout the last two years of his Ermysted's career. Never achieving great success, the team still sough glory wherever possible until the end of the 2008 season. The 14 May 2008 saw the end of the season and a glorious two years in which free periods at Ermysted's had never quite been so looked forward to. Slide89's career at Ermysted's ended when he was signed by Salisbury F.C., a team competing in the University of Liverpool's league.
Slide89 was signed by Salisbury F.C. in September 2008, following his success as a defender at Ermysted's. Slide89 currently wears the number 4 shirt, following in the footsteps of such footballing greats as Sami Hyypiä (Liverpool F.C.) and Steven Gerrard (England). With his arrival at Salisbury F.C., Slide89 quickly established himself as a defender in the first team squad. He frequently plays at centre half, but sometimes is deployed as a fullback.
FIFA
[edit]Slide89 also plays, somewhat obsessively, FIFA. He is currently playing the 2010 version of the game. Activity ranges from playing occasional friendlies with his friends to several football-based drinking games. Finally, Slide89 also manages a Manager Mode team under the badge of Liverpool FC.
