Plutarch says:

It is a tradition likewise that Iolaus, who assisted Hercules in his labours and fought at his side, was beloved of him; and Aristotle observes that, even in his time, lovers plighted their faith at Iolaus's tomb.

It's translated as "beloved by him", and he's talking in the context of the sacred band. It does indeed seem to say that he was saying they were lovers. Harizotoh9 (talk) 12:59, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
