Stub tags on user page
[edit]Hi Calcwatch. Please refrain from putting stub tags onto your user page. Stub markers are not meant for pages in the User namespace, only for actual articles. There are separate categories for Wikipedia users than for subjects of articles, cf. Category:Genealogists and Category:Wikipedian genealogists. Mike Dillon 16:18, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- If you still want to categorize your account, I'd suggest the categories Category:Computer scientist Wikipedians and Category:Wikipedians in the United States (or a more specific subcategory) to replace the {{compu-bio-stub}} and {{US-bio-stub}} you removed. There is currently no Category:Wikipedian linguists to replace the {{ling-stub}}, but there could be... Mike Dillon 18:06, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- There is now a Category:Wikipedian linguists. Feel free to add yourself if appropriate. Happy editing. Mike Dillon 23:34, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Lee Jung Hyun Album Aricles~
[edit]Heya, I was wondering if you were going to complete the Lee Jung Hyun album articles you did? I really like what you did on the first three, but after there the articles deteriorate. If you need the proper Hangeul and proper titles, Yesasia has it. I'm really hopeless with Korean titles (funny that, I don't take the language). If you could I'd really appreciate it xD --Mahogany h00r 09:34, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, Mahogany h00r. Thanks for your comments! I'm glad to see that you appreciate my contributions :-). I'm off from college for the winter, so I'll finally have time to edit the Lee Jung Hyun articles in the next few days. I'm still trying to figure out a good way to organize the track listings so that they can include hangul, romanizations and translations in an easy to read format. I don't know Korean well at all, as I've never formally studied it, so I can't translate all of the track titles, but I'll do my best... -- Calcwatch 06:46, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Hanja or Hanja
[edit]Hi Calcwatch. It seems Appleby wants to pursue mediation. May I ask you to take the lead, and decide for us? I promise to follow your lead, and assist you by seconding all your decisions along the way. Personally, it seems pointless to pursue mediation because I think we are capable of reaching concensus without Appleby. But if the mediator can hear all the hidden voices of people who are not as vocal as we are, and the problem is clarified, it could be a very positive thing. We certainly don't want anybody to be intimidated by the positions we and Appleby take. (For example, some people may already have been scared away by the mere mention of "North Korea".)--Endroit 18:08, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Calcwatch. Thank you for starting our Alternate Proposal. I agree with you 100%. We should go ahead, finalize it, and implement this new proposal. In the next 2 weeks, I may not be able to respond the same day, but you have my full support. In the mean time, we may have to expect an attempt by Appleby to start an Edit War. I don't really know how to deal with a person who may be intent on defying Wikipedia:Consensus. But I think we should make our point by not doing more than ONE revert per person per day on any article, to prove our point. Also, I believe that the kind of edits he did last time violates Wikipedia:Bots policy.
- Regarding the Mediation, I'm not an expert either. But I believe a mediator should be contacting us eventually. If she does contact one of us, we can discuss what steps we have taken so far, and then ask her for suggestions. I don't think there's much a mediator can do, but we shouldn't refuse the mediation process. Ideally, if the Mediation can be escalated to an Arbitration, then an admin should be able to enforce her decision on our behalf. Because we may want to reach the Arbitration process, we should try to follow the "Wikipedia:Resolving disputes" policy very carefully.
- I think it's a lot of work, but it's OK to take it slowly. (Besides, I think many admins are on a Wikibreak during the Holiday season.) Happy Holidays!--Endroit 07:30, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lee Jung Hyun II.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Lee Jung Hyun II.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:21, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
I was looking at this picture, and wondering if it would not fall under Template:PD-Text. If your program output the charts, then the rest is a simple uncopyrightable typeface, and what copyright would apply would be yours. Under that principle, would you upload it to the Wikimedia Commons under a free license, or at least give it a free license here?--Prosfilaes (talk) 01:44, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
