Transformers: Victory directect/merges
[edit]If you are going to redirect/merge the articles of the Transformers: Victory characters to the main animation page, can we work on putting more information on that page than exists right now? Many characters simply get a name list there. When the Masterforce characters were merged, the editor made sure to expand the descriptions of the characters a little. If you need some help, let me know. Thanks. Mathewignash (talk) 12:43, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, that needs to be done. I was simply redirecting the non-notable characters there (and fixing the redirects that had been created before the list was split off) in preparation for doing that. --Divebomb (talk) 14:24, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Great then. I'll happily support these moves, and we can restore any characters to full pages IF they can get some decent individual third party references. Mathewignash (talk) 19:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Transformers Marvel Comics human characters
[edit]Since you've decided today to redirect almost every single human character created in the Transformers Marvel Comics comic to List of characters in Transformers comics, without giving much of an advance warning, I think the entries on the list article should be expanded. I originally created the list article solely as an index, it was never meant to fully describe the characters. Now I see that it has to, because there are no other places on the English Wikipedia that even mention the characters. I intend to expand the entries, which currently only state what the character was, to also include what he/she did in the comics. If you or other people who have actually read the comics as much as I have can help in this, then I would appreciate it. JIP | Talk 20:44, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Your resent recent article redirection/deletion rampage
[edit]Dear Divebomb,
Without any warning or discussion you haven the last few hours iredirected scores of transformers articles and wiped out the contributions of many editors. Please provide a detailed rationale for each article you redirected or I will undo the redirects. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Have a nice weekend. Thank you very much. Carolyn Baker III (talk) 22:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- The article subjects were minor characters and therefore failed every notability test in the book, so I thought it would be better if they were redirected to the appropriate lists instead of someone else stumbling upon them and sending them to the AFD timesink.
- There. Done. (Also, most of the pages I redirected were redlinks anyway.) --Divebomb (talk) 07:07, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, but if they go to the AFD then there is the possibility that the articles will be kept and expanded. Carolyn Baker III (talk) 15:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Fat chance. They're minor and non-notable. --Divebomb (talk) 17:39, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- I say we let the consensus decide that. Lets take it to Aarticles for discussion. Carolyn Baker III (talk) 15:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Do you understand what I'm saying? They are minor and non-notable characters and taking them to AFD would be a massive waste of time since the outcome of any such debates is already assured. --Divebomb (talk) 17:27, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, but if they go to the AFD then there is the possibility that the articles will be kept and expanded. Carolyn Baker III (talk) 15:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
CB 3 (if I may refer to you as that), do you honestly think that any of those characters would have earned any "keep" consensus? If so, which one(s) ?NotARealWord (talk) 17:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Whether or not that is true, the very least that Divebomb could have done would have been to announce in advance he was going to do this. Just bluntly going out and doing it seems a bit callous. JIP | Talk 19:04, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes because it is like you unilaterally and speedily deleted all those article -- a lot of articles. Do anyone else feel this way? Carolyn Baker III (talk) 00:03, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Unilateral redirection is common for articles that clearly don't meet the notability guidelines. There is no requirement (see WP:BOLD) that you first post an announcement of your intentions (and I'm thoroughly unsure of where one could even post such an announcement). I'm not seeing anything wrong here. If the outcome at AfD is obvious, then taking the articles to AfD just wastes the time of another dozen editors who need to read through the article, look at the sources, and type out their rationale. If you feel strongly that some or all of these articles do meet the notability guidelines, then please explain. SnottyWong squeal 00:28, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- But we really won't know until these issues have been presented before the community in legitimate AFD's. Why is due process a "waste of time"? Carolyn Baker III (talk) 00:47, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Am I the only one who's getting a WP:IDHT vibe? --Divebomb (talk) 07:09, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Carolyn apparently doesn't know if a subject is notable unless a group of people tell her? Carolyn, can you yourself demonstrate the notability of any of these articles? If so, that might be a legitimate reason to take them to AfD or revert Divebomb's redirect. If you can't, then how could bringing them to AfD be seen as anything other than a waste of time? Blindly complaining about unilateral redirection is not helpful unless you can demonstrate why it was inappropriate (i.e. how the subjects pass WP:GNG and therefore shouldn't have been redirected). Hello. You recently added a citation to a book from the "Webster's Quotations, Facts and Phrases" series published by Icon Group International to this article. Unfortunately, Icon Group International is not a reliable source - their books are computer-generated, with most of the text copied from Wikipedia (most entries have [WP] by them to indicate this, see e.g. [1]).
I've only removed the reference, not the text it was referencing. A lot of similar references have been removed as they are circular references; many other editors have also been duped by these sources. Despite giving an appearance of reliability, the name "Webster's" has been public domain since the late 19th century. Another publisher to be wary of as they reuse Wikipedia articles is Alphascript Publishing. Fences&Windows 01:07, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Transformers: Timelines
[edit]I've been working to improve the Transformers: Timelines page. Added a lot of references, removed excessive pictures, removed the uncited original research into the plots. Speedy deletion nomination of Leadfoot (Transformers)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Leadfoot (Transformers) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
